  • Publication number: 20190103190
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for rapid generation of simulations of a patient's spinal morphology that enable pre-operative viewing of a patient's condition and to assist surgeons in determining the best corrective procedure and with any of the selection, augmentation or manufacture of spinal devices based on the patient specific simulated condition. The simulation is generated by morphing a generic spine model with a three-dimensional curve representation of the patient's particular spinal morphology derived from existing images of the patient's condition. Other anatomical structures in the patient's skeletal system are likewise simulated by morphing a generic normal skeletal model, as applicable, particularly those skeletal entities that are connected directly or indirectly to the spinal column.

  • Patent number: 10089927
Abstract: An improved AM OLED pixel circuit and method of wide dynamic range dimming for AM OLED displays are disclosed that maintain color balance throughout the dimming range, and also maintain the uniformity of the luminance and chromaticity of the display at low gray-levels as the display is dimmed to lower luminance values. As such, AM OLED displays can meet the stringent color/dimming specifications required for existing and future avionics, cockpit, and hand-held military device display applications. Essentially, the OLED pixel circuit and method of dimming that are disclosed use Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) of the OLED pixel current to achieve the desired display luminance. Two example circuits are disclosed that externally PW modulate the common cathode voltage or common power supply voltage to modulate the OLED current in order to achieve the desired display luminance.

  • Patent number: 10013531
Abstract: Context based AR may include receiving a first wireless signal from a pair of context based AR glasses worn by a user. The context based AR glasses may include a display viewable by the user and a camera to image an object viewed by the user. The image of the object may be analyzed, and compared to images of objects stored in a database that includes information associated with the images of the objects. Based on a match, the object viewed by the user may be identified. Based on collaboration of the user with personnel disposed remotely from the user, and the identified object, a second wireless signal may be sent to the pair of context based AR glasses to provide information related to the collaboration, and to further superimpose the information associated with the identified object adjacent to and/or on top of the object viewed by the user.

  • Patent number: 9967036
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques to sample electrical data streams in coherent receivers. For instance, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) samples the received electrical data stream at a sampling rate that is nominally twice or greater than twice the symbol rate of the electrical data stream that the ADC receives. A digital filter receives the digital data stream from the ADC, and digitally filters the digital data streams to output a filtered digital electrical data stream at an effective sampling rate that is less than the sampling rate and less than twice the symbol rate, and greater than or equal to the symbol rate.

  • Patent number: 9595302
Abstract: A hard disk drive cover with a smooth bottom (inner) surface and a textured outer surface is provided for covering a hard disk drive base assembly. A method of manufacturing the hard disk includes providing a metal material. The metal material is worked into a metal strip having a textured surface and an opposing smooth surface. A hard disk drive cover is stamped from the worked metal strip with the smooth surface being the inner surface of the stamped cover. The smooth inner surface of the hard disk drive advantageously enhances cleanliness within the base assembly.
