  • Publication number: 20210378487
Abstract: A disposable valve assembly configured for use with an endoscope is disclosed. The disposable valve assembly may include a stem comprised of thermoplastic material, a spring stanchion configured to receive the stem and allow movement of the stem in an upward and downward position relative to the spring stanchion, a spring configured to contact that spring stanchion and the stem. In some embodiments, a lubricant is disposed on the stem, the spring stanchion and/or the spring. The disposable valve assembly may also include an antimicrobial agent disposed in the lubricant, or in the thermoplastic material and/or can be coated thereon. A method for manufacturing the disposable valve assemblies for use with an endoscope may include several steps.

  • Patent number: 9104903
Abstract: A method is described for correlating microscopy images from a number of modalities in a sub diffraction resolution environment. The method may include receiving a number of datasets that may represent microscopy captures from a number of different modalities. The microscopy captures may contain feature markers that may be used to register a number of data points contained in a dataset with data points from another dataset. Upon registering the data points of the datasets, a combined dataset may be produced and a visual image of the combined dataset may be provided.

  • Patent number: 8708933
Abstract: The invention is directed to a guidewire having a distal section with multiple distally tapered core segments with at least two contiguous distally tapering core segments in which the most distal tapered core segment preferably has a greater degree of taper than the proximally contiguous tapered core segment. The invention is also directed to an elongated intracorporeal device, preferably a guidewire or section thereof, that has a core member or the like with a plurality of contiguous tapered segments having taper angles that are configured to produce a linear change in stiffness over a longitudinal section of the device. The device may also have a core section with a continuously changing taper angle to produce a curvilinear profile that preferably is configured to produce a linear change in stiffness of the core over a longitudinal section of the device.

  • Publication number: 20100274276
Abstract: An occlusion system, method, and apparatus which treats an aneurysm in a primary vessel such as an intracranial vessel. Aneurysm types treatable by means of this invention include bulge (sometimes referred to as a true aneurysm), dissecting aneurysms in which the layers of vessel wall are partially delaminated, and what are referred to a “false” aneurysm defined by a relatively small opening in the parent vessel wall fluridically coupled to a bulb-shaped sac, also defined by the vessel wall. The system includes an occlusion device configured for deployment in the parent vessel that restricts fluid flow to the aneurysm. A patch on the device covers the neck of the aneurysm. The system includes a marker in a defined relationship with the patch, which allows for axial and rotational positioning of the device.
