  • Publication number: 20100270236
Abstract: A cost effective continuous deep water desalination method and system that can use reverse osmosis, and use the difference in the relative density of fresh and salt water to raise desalinized water through a header into an inshore gathering line. The desalinized water can flow to shore via a gravity-driven elevation change. Inertial energy from the gravity drop can be captured prior to deposit to an aquifer or pumping to the land surface. This energy can be used to help drive the system. Wind, solar, and wave energy can also be captured to provide mechanical or electrical power to assist in driving the system. Back flushing the system can be performed through forcing the fresh water or air back through the system and thus force buildup off the membrane.

  • Publication number: 20080048541
Abstract: A germicidal ultra-violet lamp (UVGI Lamp) fitted with a fluoro-polymer sleeve, sealed on each end and loose over the body of the lamp, thereby providing a thermal barrier for more efficient operation of the lamp in colder temperatures. Specifically, the invention is an insulated germicidal ultra-violet lamp (UVGI Lamp), a thermally insulative and UV transmissive sleeve (such as a fluoro-polymer like PTFE or FEP) of greater diameter than the translucent body disposed coaxially with the translucent body forming an encapsulated space therebetween filled filled with gas, such as ambient surface air. The cathodes can be UVc emitters and can UV light <255 nm. An additional feature of the present invention can be a spacer disposed within said space, wherein the distance between said translucent body and said sleeve is maintained.

  • Publication number: 20070114821
Abstract: A passenger bicycle seat assembly (20) includes a box plate (30) that secures the assembly (20) to the bicycle (28). A position locking device (44) extends from the bottom of the box plate (30) and engages the frame (26) of the bicycle (28) and prevents movement of the assembly (20) from side to side. The box plate (30) defines a hole (54) that extends through the box plate (30). The hole (54) is disposed adjacent to the rear end (34) of the box plate (30) and secures the box plate (30) to the bicycle (28). The hole (54) encloses and fits the mounting shaft (24) that extends between the operator seat (22) and the frame (26) to prevent movement side to side and forward and backward along the frame (26).

  • Publication number: 20060138815
Abstract: A passenger bicycle seat which supports a passenger on a bicycle and it mounted forward of the operator's seat and is mounted by a box plate. The passenger bicycle seat has stationary foot pedals and a T bar handle grip for the passenger. The passenger bicycle seat is secured by a box plate along to the bicycle frame to prevent movement fore and aft, and from side to side.

  • Publication number: 20060132012
Abstract: A device which consists of a germicidal ultra-violet lamp (UVGI Lamp) fitted with a flouro-polymer sleeve, which is heat sealed on each end of the lamp but not allowed to seal over the body of the lamp, thereby providing a thermal barrier for more efficient operation of the lamp in colder temperatures. The UVGI is used for disinfecting surface and airborne mold and bacteria, within the line of sight of the light emission of the device and typically placed in air handlers, air conditioning units, air purifiers, or other devices used to move, transport or purify air, water or other fluids.

  • Publication number: 20050133017
Abstract: A double-pit outdoor grill with consists of two more or less symmetrical cooking chambers joined to form a common wall. The common wall between the two chambers have openings which permit the flow of heat/air from the lower chamber through to the upper chamber with same exiting the upper chamber by way of a centrally located stack. The lower chamber has an air intake located along the forward and bottom mid-section of the chamber, allowing air to draft in along the bottom of the lower chamber which is used to burn wood or similar cooking materials.
