    Abstract: A process and system for continuously removing an external weld bead from a moving pipe or tube that has been formed with a longitudinal weld seam extending along a longitudinal axis of the pipe or tube. An at least partially closed ribbon chamber receives scarfed ribbon on one end of the chamber, and a chopping device located adjacent the other end of the chamber chops the ribbon into pieces, before the ribbon pieces can jam or disrupt the continuous system flow.
