  • Publication number: 20240117262
Abstract: Fuel oil compositions, and methods for blending such fuel oil compositions, to enhance initial compatibility and longer term stability when such fuel oil compositions are blended to meet IMO 2020 low sulfur fuel oil requirements (ISO 8217). In one or more embodiments, asphaltenic resid base stocks are blended with high aromatic slurry oil to facilitate initial compatibility such that low sulfur cutter stocks, e.g., vacuum gas oil and/or cycle oil, may be further blended therein to cut sulfur content while maintaining longer term stability. These fuel oil compositions are economically advantageous when used as marine low sulfur fuel oils because greater concentrations of high viscosity resids are present in the final blend.

  • Patent number: 7401298
Abstract: Displaying requested data from a database includes providing a display containing a scroll bar with a scroll tab therein, determining a total amount of the requested data, sizing the scroll tab in the scroll bar according to the total amount of the requested data and according to an amount of data displayable in the display, and fetching a predetermined amount of data from a first portion of the database. The predetermined amount may be independent of the size of the display. The predetermined amount may be less than the total amount of the requested data. Sizing the scroll tab may include choosing a size that indicates to a user that all of the requested data is being fetched from the database and/or may include choosing a size that is inversely proportional to the total amount of the request data in response to the total amount of the requested data being less than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 6085756
Abstract: A apparatus 10 for painting nails is provided. The nail polishing apparatus includes a substantially "U"-shaped nail abutting portion 12 and an integrally formed substantially "V"-shaped portion 14. Portion 12 includes a slot 18 into which a user can insert a finger 68. Surface 16 of portion 12 effectively covers the skin and/or cuticles 78, 80 surrounding the finger nail 72, thereby preventing unnecessary application of nail polish to these areas. Portion 14 is adapted to pivotally support finger 68 and nail 72 at some distance above a surface 68.
