  • Publication number: 20200345628
Abstract: The use of a novel route of administration of aripiprazole for treatment of an eating disorder. Specifically, the use of an intranasal route of administration of aripiprazole for treatment of an eating disorder such as anorexia nervosa, atypical anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, purging disorder, or any combination of multiple types of eating disorders, as well as any syndrome disease such as night eating syndrome, carcinoid syndrome, or serotonin syndrome or any diseases or symptoms comorbid with an eating disorder. This intranasal route of administration will most likely reach the brain via the single epithelial cell layers of the nose to blood vessels to the cerebrospinal fluid neighboring the olfactory bulbs and finally into the nervous system where it may produce both local or systemic effects. This route may treat neurotransmitter imbalances, altered eating behaviors, or comorbid symptoms or diseases associated with an eating disorder including treatment and compliance.

  • Patent number: 9682688
Abstract: An automobile washing wand includes a starfish shaped head having fingers reaching into tight corners of automobile exteriors. The head includes ports for water and soap to escape and bristles for scrubbing, and is attached to a stalk by a ball joint. A small cross-section water line runs through the stalk to supply water to the head while minimizing weight added to the wand by the presence of water in the wand. • Patent number: 8175560
Abstract: Method and system for tuning a tunable antenna uses a comparison between a signal response at two different tuning frequencies to determine how or if the tuning needs to be further adjusted. With the approach, the method and system arrive at a frequency shift that is centered about the desired antenna frequency, which point there is no net change in the signal response. In a further aspect, a frequency to which a tuned antenna is tuned is shifted to verify whether the antenna is still in tune. Modifications to minimize disturbance of the output received signal that would otherwise be caused by the frequency shifting are contemplated.

  • Patent number: 7873198
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and methods for measuring proportions of body materials in body parts. The apparatus includes a device for retaining the body part, at least one reference material with at least two thicknesses positioned adjacent to the device, and at least three radiopaque markers positioned on the reference material(s). The reference material(s) each have an attenuation characteristic that is selected in correspondence to the body materials in the body part. The apparatus further includes a radiation device to simultaneously irradiate the body part, the reference material(s) and the radiopaque markers as well as a detector to detect attenuated beams of radiation and a pattern projected from the irradiated radiopaque markers. A calculation device determines the thickness of the body part based on this projected pattern and compares the attenuation values of the body part and the reference material(s) at the determined thickness.

  • Patent number: 7610970
Abstract: A drilling apparatus controls or eliminates reaction torque from drill bits thereby preventing loss of penetration due to undesired rotation of the drilling apparatus or controls drilling direction by intentionally manipulating reaction torque thereby inducing desired drill bit walk. The drilling apparatus has a concentrically divided drill bit in which an inner drill bit rotates simultaneously in the opposite direction from an outer drill bit. The inner drill bit can be moved axially forward from or back toward the outer drill bit. Forces produced by the inner and outer drill bits are controlled to eliminate or adjust reaction torque.
