  • Patent number: 11520648
Abstract: Implementing a firmware watchdog timer. A system presents a data structure over a bus which exposes, to software executing at a central processing unit (CPU), a hardware resource that is associated with a watchdog timer, attribute(s) of the watchdog timer, and (iii) commands available to the software executing at the CPU for managing the watchdog timer via one or more native CPU instructions that target the hardware resource. The system listens on the bus for a data value written to the hardware resource (i.e., by a native CPU operation issued by the software executing at the CPU), and identifies a particular command for managing the watchdog timer based on the data value written. Based on identifying the particular command, the system performs at least one of: initializing the watchdog timer, starting the watchdog timer, resetting the watchdog timer, or stopping the watchdog timer.

  • Patent number: 7891146
Abstract: Devices, apparatus, systems and methods of attaching storm panels over window and door openings with end fastenable H tracks. Each of the tracks can have H cross-sectional shapes with elongated opposite facing C shaped channels back to back along the elongated tracks. At the upper and lower ends of the tracks can be outwardly protruding tabs having through-holes for allowing the tracks to mounted into frame edges about the window and door openings. Rectangular shutter panels such as plywood, metal and plastic sheeting can have side edges that slidably fit into the C channel openings of the H tracks so that the only fasteners to attach the panels over the building openings are through the track tabs. Stop flanges can prevent the panels from sliding out of the channels. The track, brackets can be mounted horizontal and parallel to one another as well as be mounted vertically and parallel to one another.

  • Patent number: 7618233
Abstract: Conical diffusers with or without conical center bodies can improve air moving performance by up to 21% at no increase in power. Embodiments coupled with electronically commutated motors (ECMs) showed additional reductions to condenser fan power of approximately 25%. A strip member, such as open cell foam can be applied as a liner to the interior walls of a condenser housing adjacent to the wall surface where the rotating blades sweep against. The porous edge can also be used with the trailing edge and/or tip edge of the blades. These members can both improve air flow by reducing dead air spacing between the rotating blade tips and the interior walls of the condenser housing, as well as lower undesirable noise sound emissions.

  • Patent number: 7568885
Abstract: Novel twisted blades with an air foil for use with air conditioner condensers and heat pumps that provide improved airflow efficiency to minimize operating power requirements having an overall diameter across the blades being approximately 19 inches, and approximately 27.6 inches. The blades (AC-A) can run at approximately 840 rpm to produce approximately 2200 cfm of air flow using approximately 110 Watts of power from an 8-pole motor. Using an OEM 6-pole ? hp motor produced approximately 2800 cfm with approximately 144 Watts of power while running the blades at approximately 1100 rpm. Power savings were 25% (50 W) over the conventional configuration. A second version of the fan (AC-B) with some refinements to the flow geometry produced a similar air flow while using only 131 W of power at 1100 rpm. Power savings were 32% (62 W) over the conventional configuration. Embodiments can include two, three, four and five blades equally spaced apart from one another about hubs.

  • Patent number: 7249931
Abstract: Twisted blades for outdoor air conditioner condensers and heat pumps that improve airflow efficiency to minimize operating power requirements. The blades can run at approximately 850 rpm to produce approximately 1930 cfm of air flow using approximately 110 Watts of power from an 8-pole motor with an improved diffuser assembly. Using an OEM 6-pole ? hp motor produced approximately 2610 cfm with approximately 145 Watts of power while running the blades at approximately 1100 rpm. Power savings were approximately 24% (40 to 50 Watts) over the conventional configuration with increased air flow. Embodiments of two, three, four and five blades can be equally spaced apart from one another about hubs. Additionally, a novel noise reduction configuration can include asymmetrically mounted blades such as five blades asymmetrically mounted about the hub.

  • Publication number: 20050073982
Abstract: A connector gateway system that provides mobile devices with access to business services is disclosed. The connector gateway system comprises a mobile device that includes an application that is capable of generating a service request. The service request may be generated from the application and may include a DNS name that translates to an address on the connector gateway server. The connector gateway server performs a lookup operation to determine the business server associated with the service request. The connector gateway server creates a data filter that drives an emulation between the mobile device and the business server to pump data between the mobile device and the business server.

  • Patent number: 3962504
Abstract: Fired ceramic tiles having a rear surface which is provided with a series of fine ribs but is otherwise substantially planar are attachable to a wall or similar surface, without the need to apply a fixative to the surface, by reason of a plurality of bodies of adhesive material distributed over the rear surface of the tile body and projecting therefrom to a thickness of 0.75 to 1mm., the adhesive being a pressure-sensitive adhesive and being of such a nature that it will retain its coherent form both prior to and after mounting of the tile and will not flow or spread appreciably, each body of adhesive extending over a plurality of said ribs which are embedded therein, having a flat outer surface and being spaced from adjacent bodies of adhesive and from the edges of the tile body, and the adhesive material being protected by a peel-off film.
