  • Patent number: 7408235
Abstract: A quantum coherent switch having a substrate formed from a density wave (DW) material capable of having a periodic electron density modulation or spin density modulation, a dielectric layer formed onto a surface of the substrate that is orthogonal to an intrinsic wave vector of the DW material; and structure for applying an external spatially periodic electrostatic potential over the dielectric layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 7, 2004
Date of Patent: August 5, 2008
Assignee: Los Alamos National Security, LLC
Inventors: Neil Harrison, John Singleton, Albert Migliori
  • Publication number: 20060075608
Abstract: The flow of cotton toward gin stands in a cotton gin is done by providing at least three level sensors in an overflow bin downstream of the gin stands. Cotton overflowing the gin stands accumulates in the overflow bin. When cotton is detected by the lower and at least one intermediate sensor, a signal is generated to slow down the disintegration of a cotton module in a module feeder. When cotton is detected only by the lower sensor, a signal is generated to speed up the disintegration of the module in the module feeder. Sensors in the gin stands are used in cooperation with the level sensors to control operation of the module feeder.
