  • Patent number: 5249199
Abstract: An audio system (600) typically includes an audio signal processor (610), a controller (607) for controlling data signals, and a peripheral data source (613). The audio signal processor (610) exchanges information with a remote audio device (603) via a communication resource (605). A method of reducing spurious noise levels on the communication resource (605) includes generating a timing signal (400) having a period and randomly altering the period (409, 411, 413) of the timing signal (400) between a first predetermined value and a second predetermined value. The randomly altered timing signal are then used to effect control of the data signals, while providing a reduced level of spurious noise on the communication resource (605).
