  • Patent number: 7098411
Abstract: An electronic module that is activated by the touch of a button for sending a wireless signal to a remote receiver. The module has a housing with an upper portion that is secured in relation to a vehicle. A lower portion of the housing has mating apertures and openings provided therein. A set of staking posts extends from an upper face of one or more buttons. The staking posts have a leading end that is registrable with the mating apertures that are provided in the lower portion of the housing. A set of actuating posts also extends from the upper face of the button. Those posts extend within at least some of the openings that are defined in the lower portion of the housing. Optionally, an array of light pipes is in optical communication with a set of switches. One of the switches can be closed following contact by a leading end of one of the posts when a button is depressed.

  • Publication number: 20060185970
Abstract: A trim assembly for a motor vehicle includes a component that is moveable between first and second positions, and a first latch member associated with the component and having first and second latch features and an intermediate surface disposed between the latch features. The assembly further includes a second latch member that is selectively engageable with the first and second latch features of the first latch member to retain the component in the first and second positions, respectively. The second latch member is also engageable with the intermediate surface when the component moves between the first and second positions to dampen movement of the component.

  • Publication number: 20060108823
Abstract: A movable panel assembly for a vehicle includes a console mounted within the interior of a vehicle. A panel is movably mounted relative to the console. The panel has at least one electrical component mounted thereon. A flexible cable electrically connects the at least one component to a system of the vehicle. A retractor is movably mounted on the assembly. Movement of the retractor is induced by movement of the panel relative to the console, such that the flexible cable is guided by the retractor as the panel moves, so that the position of the flexible cable is controlled within the movable panel assembly in relation to the position of the panel.

  • Patent number: 4084886
Abstract: This invention provides a day/night outdoor mirror for a vehicle in which the mirror is of the remote-operable type manipulated by Bowden cables at least some of which are clamped on the exterior and under compression between the clamp and the support member for the mirror so that a resilient biasing force is imposed on the support member. The device includes a pivotal mounting means for the support member, an additional Bowden cable for rotating the support member in opposition to the resilient biasing force to shift the mirror to a second angular position, and an operating element which incorporates a detent to hold the mirror in the adjusted position.
