  • Publication number: 20190137437
Abstract: The disclosure provides for a lab-on-a-chip (LOC) device and a method of fabrication thereof. Additionally, a system and a method for point of care testing of multiple biomarkers such as glucose, cholesterol, creatinine, uric acid, and bilirubin is provided. The microfluidic assembly consists of three layers in which the top and the middle layers are made up of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and the bottom layer with polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The device integrates screen printed non-enzymatic electrochemical sensors in the bottom layer for simultaneous detection of glucose, cholesterol, creatinine, uric acid, and bilirubin. A hand held potentiostat with readout enables readout for the point of care application of integrated sensing device. The device developed has potential to revamp healthcare by providing access to affordable technology for better management a diabetes and related complications at every door step.

  • Patent number: 10272550
Abstract: A power tool including a motor and an impact mechanism. The impact mechanism is coupled to the motor and includes a hammer driven by the motor, and an anvil positioned at a nose of the power tool, and configured to receive an impact from the hammer. The power tool also includes a sensor assembly positioned at the nose of the power tool, and an electronic processor. The sensor assembly includes an output position sensor configured to generate an output signal indicative of a position of the hammer or the anvil. The electronic processor is coupled to the output position sensor and to the motor, and is configured to operate the motor based on the output signal from the output position sensor.

  • Publication number: 20190055050
Abstract: A packaging system including a corrugated cardboard box having a vertical compartmented insert nested within the box, wherein the first vertical compartmented insert comprises a rectangular vertical array of interior dividing walls to form rectangular compartments. The insert comprises a back-to-back long support insert extending along a length of the corrugated cardboard box to form a longitudinal vertical wall, the long support insert having interlocking cutouts. A plurality of pairs of short support inserts, assembled back-to-back and each having interlocking cutouts that register with the cutouts of the long support insert are arrayed perpendicularly to the pair of long support inserts to form a plurality of lateral walls. The long support inserts and the short support inserts create vertical walls with compartments there between.

  • Patent number: 10156204
Abstract: An improvement to a free-piston Stirling machine having a cylinder mounted within a housing. The cylinder has a flange for mounting the cylinder within the housing to a transition plate with a central opening for receiving the cylinder. An elastic rim bounds and surrounds the opening and extends in an axial direction from the plate to a crest of the rim. The crest of the rim is in contact against a first axially facing side of the cylinder flange. The interior side of the rim is outwardly spaced from the exterior side of the cylinder. A compliant clamp is attached to the transition plate and is positioned on the opposite, axially facing side of the cylinder flange. The compliant clamp has an elastic spring extending against the cylinder flange which applies a force urging the cylinder flange in an axial direction against the crest of the elastic rim.
