  • Publication number: 20230211351
Abstract: A wet continuous semi-autogenous (SAG) mill system includes a frame; a rotatable cylinder supported within the frame thereby to be rotatable about a generally horizontal rotational axis with respect to the frame, the rotatable cylinder incorporating a plurality of discharge ports about its periphery and an interior spiral blade for coaxing material within the rotatable cylinder that is downstream of the discharge ports upstream towards the discharge ports during rotation; a variable speed driving system for driving the rotatable cylinder about the rotational axis; and a SAG mill removably fastened to the rotatable cylinder upstream of the discharge ports. The SAG mill includes a grinding chamber barrel within an upstream portion of the rotatable cylinder, the grinding chamber barrel having an inside diameter of about 19.2 inches and a length of about 6.4 inches and incorporating at least one interior lifter.

  • Publication number: 20060264279
Abstract: An electrically assisted or actuated continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a first pulley having a first pulley portion for fixed connection to an engine shaft and an axially movable second pulley portion for placement about the engine shaft. A mechanism for assisting a mechanically-actuated CVT includes a nut connected to the movable portion and an electric motor having a screw that is engaged with the nut. The nut is moved axially by rotation of the screw with respect to the nut, assisting mechanical actuators in changing axial spacing between the pulley portions. A variable actuator for actuating a CVT includes a pair of disks coaxially enagaged with the pulley portions, and a roller for contacting the disks at varying inclinations. An electric motor tilts the roller along the axis of rotation, causing the disks to rotate at differing rates to effect a change in axial spacing between the pulley portions.

  • Publication number: 20050272540
Abstract: An electrically actuated continuously variable transmission with a first pulley having a first pulley portion for fixed connection to an engine shaft and an axially movable second pulley portion for placement about the engine shaft. An electric actuator coaxially coupled to the second pulley portion moves the second pulley portion with respect to the first pulley portion when the electric actuator moves the second pulley portion to change spacing between the first and second pulley portions.

  • Publication number: 20050223798
Abstract: The invention relates to a testing method for designing a semiautogenous or an autogenous grinding circuit with at least one ball mill for grinding ore. In the method the ore is tested in two separate testing steps using the same testing sample of ore.

  • Patent number: 6756101
Abstract: An adhesive tape for use with high-speed webs which provides for adherence between two surfaces before allowing the tape to separate along a specific interface between two non-adhesive layers. The separation of tape along the specific interface results in the absence of any exposed adhesive surfaces and provides for improved performance in a variety of uses.

  • Patent number: 6752338
Abstract: A pilot plant scale SAG mill suitable for use in design of a commercial scale SAG mill. The ball mill has a cylindrical outer chamber having flanges at opposed ends. The cylindrical outer chamber contains a removable grinding chamber in the form of a sleeve. The removable grinding chamber has a diameter of 2-5 feet and a ratio of diameter:length in the range of 3:1 to 1:1. The removable grinding chamber contains a plurality of steel balls. The removable grinding chamber extends partly down the length of the cylindrical chamber and has longitudinal lifters attached to the internal surface of the sleeve. The lifters are capable of lifting steel balls located in the removable grinding chamber during rotation of the cylindrical outer chamber. The removable grinding chamber has means at one end for receiving particulate ore from a feed hopper and a removable diaphragm at the opposed end, the removable diaphragm having outlet ports therein for discharge of ground particulate ore into the cylindrical outer chamber.

  • Publication number: 20030010422
Abstract: An adhesive tape for use in high-speed web-splicing which provides for adherence of the loose end of a web reel to the reel before allowing the tape to separate along a specific interface between two non-adhesive layers upon connection to a depleted web. The separation of tape along the specific interface results in the absence of any exposed adhesive surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5392789
Abstract: An endoscopic scissors includes a clevis having a relatively large diameter bore in its first arm and relatively smaller diameter bore in its second arm. A pair of scissor elements having mounting/pivot holes are mounted between the clevis arms. Either the small diameter bore in the second clevis arm or the mounting/pivot hole in the scissor element closest to the second clevis arm is threaded. A stepped diameter axle pin having a threaded portion is inserted with its smaller end entering the larger diameter bore of the first clevis arm. The threaded portion of the axle pin threadably engages either the threaded bore in the second clevis arm or the threaded mounting/pivot hole of the scissor element closest to the second clevis arm. In one embodiment, the bore in the second clevis arm is not threaded and the threaded portion of the axle pin engages only the threaded threaded mounting/pivot hole of the scissor element closest to the second clevis arm.
