Abstract: A method and apparatus for separating two laminae of a laminate. The apparatus has a separator extending into the path of the laminate as it travels through the apparatus. The separator may be shaped similar to a knife blade and be interposed between the two laminae of the laminate as the laminae pass by the separator. At least a portion of the laminae of the laminate are separated from one another by the separator during dispensing.

Abstract: A method and applicator for applying sheet material to a substrate. The applicator comprises two outwardly facing burnishes, each having an outwardly facing surface. The surfaces are disposed at an included angle of at least 180°, and preferably at least 270°. This geometry allows for positioning sheet material, such as wallpaper, into a corner to begin application at a desired position. Further, this geometry allows the user to conveniently and ergonomically effectively rotate the applicator as the sheet material is being applied. The applicator and sheet material may be provided together in a kit.

Abstract: A sensor and wireless communication technologies are implemented to make it possible to assemble a golf ball like device, which can be lofted into the air in order to monitor atmospheric conditions, such as wind strength, wind speed, temperature, elevation (height), altitude, barometric pressure and the like. These atmospheric parameters are displayed on the hand held device in graphic and tabular form. In an embodiment of the present invention, the distance to an object is provided in view of one or more parameters of atmospheric conditions.

Abstract: A method and device for applying sheet material, such as wallpaper, to a substrate. The applicator is bi-positionable, having a first position where the sheet material is spaced apart from the substrate and a second position where the sheet material contact the substrate. Additionally or alternatively, the applicator may be provided with a control bar. In the first position, the control bar contacts a portion of the sheet material such as its free end. This minimizes the chance of the sheet material prematurely contacting the substrate. In the second position, the sheet material is disengaged from the control bar for application to the substrate. The applicator and sheet material may be provided together in a kit.

Abstract: Articles for applying color on a surface that includes a sheet of dry color component having a margin, a front sheet surface, and a rear sheet surface opposite the front sheet surface, and an adhesive on the rear sheet surface for bonding the sheet to the surface. Either the margin of the sheet or the entire sheet is adapted for reducing or eliminating the visual perceptibility of the seam created when the margin is positioned in an overlapping, abutting, or spaced apart relationship with a margin of a juxtaposed second article. The reduction or elimination of the visual perceptibility of the seam may be promoted by a physical mechanism, a chemical mechanism, an optical mechanism, or a combination of these mechanisms.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing paper. The apparatus allows for the use of an existing wall-mounted dispenser without requiring any modification to the existing wall-mounted unit. The apparatus can also be free-standing or portable. The apparatus will accommodate rolled paper or sheets of paper. The apparatus also comprises an automated system for moistening and/or cleansing which enables the user to optionally moisten the paper and/or apply a cleansing agent to the paper if so desired. The degree (i.e.; the amount) of moistening or cleansing agent applied may be controlled by the user.

In a multiple ply embodiment, the sheet can have an optimized basis weight of at least about 42 lb/3000 square feet while maintaining nearly the same amount of actual total fiber usage per cleaning task as current premium bath tissues.

Abstract: An anhydrous lotion composition for killing viruses and bacteria in addition to imparting a soft, lubricious, lotion-like feel when applied to tissue paper and tissue paper treated with such lotion compositions are disclosed. The antiviral action of the lotion is due to the addition of an organic acid such as citric acid or salicylic acid. The antibacterial action is due to the addition of antibacterial agents such as TRICLOSAN®. The solubilization of the antiviral and antibacterial agents within the lotion matrix is aided by the addition of hydrophilic solvents and hydrophilic surfactants. The lubricious lotions also contain a plastic or fluid skin conditioning agent such as petrolatum, an optional immobilizing agent such as a fatty alcohol or fatty acid to immobilize the skin conditioning agent on the surface of the tissue paper web and a hydrophilic surfactant to improve wettability when applied to toilet tissue.
