  • Patent number: 11983320
Abstract: An example wearable device that includes a conductive deformable fabric is described herein. The conductive deformable fabric has a conductive trace that has a non-extendable fixed length along a first axis, and the conductive trace is sewn into a fabric structure to produce a conductive deformable material. The fabric structure includes a stitch pattern that facilitates the conductive trace to unfold and fold in an oscillating fashion to allow the conductive trace to expand and contract, respectively, along the first axis without exceeding the fixed length of the conductive trace. The conductive deformable material is positioned within the wearable device such that when the wearable device is worn, the stitch pattern is over a joint of the user to allow the stitch pattern to expand or contract along with the movement of the joint.

  • Publication number: 20080289890
Abstract: An improved battery charging system for use on a non-motorized, ground-supported wheeled vehicle such as a horse-drawn buggy, including a generator incorporated into the hub assembly of at least one wheel, a voltage control unit for controlling the voltage output of the generator over the full range or vehicle speeds, and a battery. The synchronous generator features rare earth metal permanent magnets arranged in a three-phase, outside rotor disposed within a wheel brake housing of a buggy wheel hub. The stator is situated on an axle. Voltage regulation includes active switching whereby generator output voltage is rectified during low vehicle speed operation and an increasing portion directed away from the battery as vehicle speed and thus generator output voltage increases to a level which could damage the connected battery.

  • Patent number: 7182285
Abstract: A comminution apparatus for refining various materials into smaller pieces of a desired size, the apparatus having a pair of generally circular disks disposed on a common axis and arranged generally parallel to one another forming a comminution region there between. Each disk incorporates a plurality of removable cutting bars radially disposed on the disk face, one disk having an even number, the other having an odd number of cutting bars. Process material is fed into the comminution space between the opposing disks and comminuted by counter-rotation of the disks which shears material between opposing cutting bars as they pass. Spacing between the disks is adjustable to suit the input process material. Tapered disk faces control the flow of material during the comminution process, permitting only material that has been sufficiently reduced in size to migrate toward the disk perimeter where a skirt ring structure controls the size of the granulated material output.

  • Publication number: 20050048449
Abstract: A system and method for language instruction is provided. In an embodiment, a method of language instruction is provided which comprises presenting a first description of an event responsive to a first perspective and presenting a second description of the event responsive to a second perspective, wherein the first description of the event and the second description of the event are in a common language. The first and second descriptions of the event can be provided in a variety of formats, such as in audio format or as text.

  • Patent number: 5911319
Abstract: A blister package for storing an array of oral hygiene applicators, each formed from a circular base having bristles anchored thereon which are impregnated with a dentifrice. The underside of the base is coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive whereby when the applicator is adhered to a fingertip of a user, it then functions as a toothbrush. The package includes a card of synthetic plastic film material molded to define an array of blisters. Sealed to the card is a backing sheet having an array of applicators releasably adhered thereto, each applicator being nested in a respective blister in the card. The package is divided by lines of perforation into separable cells, each enclosing an applicator. In use, a cell is separated from the package, its backing sheet is peeled off to expose the applicator, and the applicator is then detached from the sheet and applied to a finger tip of the user.

  • Patent number: 5392484
Abstract: A tool for cleaning and finishing bullnose joints between adjacent sheets of drywall or the like has a handle configured for grasping by a user and a head that includes a working section. The head is formed generally as a section of a thin-walled hollow cylinder having a concave side and a convex side. The working portion is the front edge of the head, which is configured to finish drywall joints of selected angles. The front edge further includes a curved recess. The curved recess in the concave side of the head is used for finishing a drywall joint of a first selected angle and the convex side is used for finishing a drywall joint of a second selected angle.

  • Patent number: 4052108
Abstract: A filling system for a silo is provided, wherein the silo is filled by blowing grain, hay, or other suitable material into the silo through a duct that extends up the silo wall, and that turns and enters into an inlet opening at the top of the silo wall, whereupon the fill material is blown toward the geometric center of the silo at the top thereof, to strike a baffle or deflector, whereupon the fill material may fall from the upper center of the silo toward the bottom thereof. A pressure relief system is provided in the form of a vent that also has a baffle or deflector for engagement of large dust particles thereagainst, and in addition is provided with a screen-type collector, with an open hole for assurance that the vent will not become blocked. Particularly novel opening mechanisms are provided for the fill door and the vent door, for opening them by an operator located at the ground level. A novel opening is provided for an access door above the center deflector or baffle.
