The inner shell is independent from the outer shell such that the inner shell is freely moveable within the outer shell. Kibble may be loaded into the innermost void and be dispensed as the toy is jostled during play, thereby incentivizing the pet to continue play.

Abstract: A pet toy with a stowable tail includes a body defining an interior space. The body includes an opening. A barrier extends within the interior space. A tail is attached to the barrier and is extendable through the opening in the body.
