  • Patent number: 8768068
Abstract: In one aspect, a computerized method to automatically detect buildings includes determining if each point of a set of filtered points is on a line by processing the set of filtered points in one pass including a) locating a first point of the set of filter points nearest to a second point of the set of filtered points, b) determining if the distance between the first point and the second point is greater than a distance threshold; c) determining if the first point and the second point have collinearity greater than a collinearity threshold; and d) designating the first point as an endpoint of a line that includes the second point if the distance between the first point and the second point is greater than the distance threshold and if the first point and the second point have collinearity greater than the collinearity threshold.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 4, 2011
Date of Patent: July 1, 2014
    Assignee: Raytheon Company
Inventors: Vernon R. Goodman, John T. Crews
  • Patent number: 8682037
Abstract: A system and method for thinning a point cloud. In one aspect of the method, the point cloud is generated by an imaging device and data points are thinned out of the point cloud based upon their distance from the imaging device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 29, 2011
Date of Patent: March 25, 2014
    Assignee: Ratheon Company

  • Patent number: 8250019
Abstract: A system and method for interactive knowledge visualization are provided. In some embodiments, a method for interactive knowledge visualization includes receiving, at a knowledge visualization server, a request for one or more visualizations; retrieving data associated with the one or more visualizations from one or more databases; converting the data associated with the one or more visualizations into visualization data, the visualization data being operable to be converted by a client into the one or more visualizations; transmitting, to a first client and a second client, the visualization data; receiving, at the knowledge visualization server, a modification request from the first client, the modification request indicating a desired modification to at least one of the one or more visualizations; modifying, in response to the modification request, the visualization data associated with the one or more visualizations; and transmitting, to the first client and second client, the modified visualization data.

  • Publication number: 20040155789
Abstract: A display simultaneously providing two sets of data. The display includes a moveable needle rotated about a pivot point located at the base of the length of the needle. The position of the needle upon a background provides an indication of a first set of data. The needle may also be incrementally illuminated or highlighted to indicate a measured value of a second set of data. The illumination may be a plurality of lights affixed to the length of the needle. Additionally, the lights may optionally be color coded to indicate a specific range value.
