  • Publication number: 20240157409
Abstract: A cleaning device (100) for cleaning fiber optic end faces comprises a dispensing nozzle (104) configured to discharge a jet column (118) generated by the Coanda effect with intermittent injection of a cleaning solvent into the jet column (118). • Patent number: 5120100
Abstract: Lifting and Gripping Apparatus for massive workpieces such as pipes comprises a stationary member and two moveable members, pivoted thereto at points higher than the springline of the workpiece and displaced from one another so as to operate in separate paths. Latching members operate in separate paths between an open position in which there is disengagement with the workpiece and a closed position in which there is engagement with the workpiece for purposes of lifting. Lifting force produces motion of the moveable members through associated cam members such that there is engagement with the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4806170
Abstract: A method for obtaining access to the end of a valve stem of a valve in a buried water main having a gate can extending from the valve to the surface. The gate can may be filled with debris or other material which has become solidified so that it cannot be removed with a known type of tool. An additional or accessory tool is provided having a blade which can be inserted into the gate can and utilized to break up, granulate or pulverize the material in the gate can. The accessory tool is operated by a manual operating tool. After the material has thus been broken up, a second tool is used which is of a type which can be inserted into the gate can and operated to collect the granulated or pulverized material and to remove it from the gate can. Both of the tools can be operated by a single manual operating tool or instrumentality having an extensible handle and which is also usable to operate a nut at the end of the valve stem after access has been obtained.

  • Patent number: 4601077
Abstract: A tool for obtaining access through a gate can to the end of a valve stem of a valve in a buried water main. The gate can extending from the valve bonnet to the surface may be filled with silt, dirt, or debris. The tool is cylindrical, having a helical rib and cutting edge providing an auger so that by turning the tool the debris within the gate can can be cut into and removed by the tool. The tool has a fitting at the top adapted to receive a socket on the end of a manual operating tool which is the same tool that can be used to engage a fitting on the end of the valve stem for operating the valve.
