  • Patent number: 9721027
Abstract: Apparatus and methods provide the effectiveness decay rate of actual police enforcement by allowing the user to chart the speeds in a particular location and overlay times when an officer was present and providing on-site enforcement. The system can monitor the speed in the location and when the speeds creep back up to a set speed or multiple of the speed after the enforcement period, the officer can be notified to provide enforcement again and reduce the speeds. For example, once the police car goes away, some locations may take longer for the average speed to creep back up to normal and others may have the average speed increase more quickly. A visual display of the situation provides a systematic method for determining enforcement locations and timing in place of conventional “seat-of-the-pants” enforcement planning.

  • Patent number: 9411893
Abstract: Traffic management reports are created from data provided by vehicle sensor devices placed at different fixed locations in a region. Data of vehicles that pass each of the vehicle sensor devices are captured and communicated to a central computer database. At the central computer database, a traffic priority enforcement report is created from the vehicle data. The traffic priority enforcement report incorporates vehicle data from a plurality of vehicles. The vehicle data is for a plurality of previous, non-current times so as to allow for analysis of past vehicle data.

Abstract: Traffic management reports are created from data provided by vehicle sensor devices placed at different fixed locations in a region. Data of vehicles that pass each of the vehicle sensor devices are captured and communicated to a central computer database. At the central computer database, traffic management reports are periodically created from the vehicle data. Each traffic management report incorporates vehicle data from a plurality of vehicles. The vehicle data is for a plurality of previous, non-current times so as to allow for analysis of past vehicle data.

  • Patent number: 8417442
Abstract: Traffic management reports are created by providing vehicle sensor devices at different location in a region. Each device captures data of vehicles that pass the device. The vehicle data is communicated to a central computer database. At the central computer database, a user interface selects one or more criteria from a plurality of criteria for filtering the vehicle data. Traffic management reports are then automatically created from the filtered vehicle data using the selected criteria.

  • Patent number: 7737912
Abstract: A portable electronic display device includes an electronic display surface having at least one display panel that displays a graphical and/or textual message, memory that stores a plurality of the messages, and one or more switches on the device that allow user selection of one of the messages. The device further includes a controller that disables the one or more switches if none of the switches are selected after a predetermined period of time after power is turned on to the display device, or if none of the switches are selected after a predetermined period of time subsequent to the last switch selection occurrence. In this manner, a person is prevented from subsequently changing the message via the one or more switches.

  • Patent number: 4835816
Abstract: A knob mounts on one end of a shaft whose other end guides a slidable element, such as the wiper of a slide potentiometer. The shaft has an elongated cross section, and the knob has a pair of generally parallel raised ribs on each of two facing interior sides. The ribs guide and secure the shaft into the knob. If the knob is twisted rather than slid, the knob comes off, but any deformation of the ribs and/or shaft is minimal and does not prevent the knob and shaft from being reused. The knob is particularly adapted for use with a notched, split shaft.

  • Patent number: 4835343
Abstract: A two piece face plate for wall mounted devices having a rectangular escutcheon is disclosed. An adapter plate having the length and width of the wall box opening is connected to the yoke of a wall box mounted device at the screw openings in the yoke plate reserved for the connection of the wall plate. Snap receiving openings are contained in the adapter plate. A decorative wall plate, which is free of mounting screw openings, has projecting snaps which project into the snap openings in the adapter plate. An internal flange extending from the wall plate produces a shadow around the periphery of the wall plate relative to the wall in which the switch is mounted. A plural gang wall box is disclosed which receives respective devices and respective adaptor plates. A common wall plate is snapped into position relative to all adapter plates.
