Abstract: A radiation shielding element especially for use in the temporary shielding of ancillary equipment or apparatus in nuclear-powered steam raising installations, said element comprising a flexible radiation-shielding sheet laminate comprising a flexible inner layer of plastic material, preferably silicone, filled with particles of radiation shielding material such as lead, said layer being interposed between two flexible skins of silicone elastomer.
