  • Publication number: 20100071503
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a cam assembly comprising a cam, a drive shaft and an adjustable screw. The cam includes a first side, a second side opposite the first side, an outer perimeter and a thickness between the first and second sides. The cam further has a first elongated bore through the first and second sides and the thickness of the cam, wherein the first elongated bore has a length radially oriented in the cam and a first end and a second end. The cam further has an elongated threaded hole extending from the outer perimeter to and being in communication with the first elongated bore. The drive shaft extends through the first elongated bore. The adjustment screw is within the elongated threaded hole and is engaged with the drive shaft, wherein the cam assembly is constructed and arranged such the drive shaft can be adjustably positioned and fixedly secured relative to the cam at a plurality of positions along the length of the first elongated bore.

  • Patent number: 6303060
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, the invention is a non-deflatable tire assembly having a hollow toroid-shaped flanged insert, a flexible body molded around the insert to form a tire, and at least one rim onto which is mounted the tire. The flange of the insert extends toward the central axis of the insert, and is used to attach the tire to the rim(s) via bolts through matching holes within the flange and rim(s). The flexible body may be made of a foam polyurethane matrix formed of a combination of polyol and polyisocyanate, while the flanged insert may be made of a high density polyethylene. A tough, flexible, and abrasive-resistant layer of polyurethane elastomer is preferably formed around the flexible body to define sidewalls and treads of the tire.

  • Patent number: 5665785
Abstract: Shaped microcellular structures having substantially non-cellular skins are produced from reactive liquid polymer systems incorporating thermoplastic microspheres containing volatile materials such as low boiling point halogenated or non-halogenated organic materials. Use of thermoplastic microspheres encapsulating such volatile materials facilitates the removal of the shaped foamed structure from molds, eliminating the need for release agents. Various products based on this process, such as bathroom fixtures, bicycle and wheel chair tires, shoe soles, and automotive parts, are provided.
