  • Patent number: 5797236
Abstract: An auxiliary bottom insert apparatus for a container includes first panels, each of which includes a first panel top edge, a first panel middle portion, and a first panel bottom edge. Each of the first panels includes first keyways spaced at predetermined first increments along the first panel top edge and extending from the first panel top edge to the first panel middle portion. Second panels are provided, wherein each of second panels includes a second panel top edge, a second panel middle portion, and a second panel bottom edge. • Patent number: 5076288
Abstract: A double-lock friction fastener system useful as a restraint for hospital patients includes separate flexible first and second straps affixed to one another at a juncture and extending adjacent one another in the same general direction so that cooperating friction fasteners on free end portions of the straps can be frictionally secured to form a loop of infinitely adjustable size for attachment to an extremity of a patient to be restrained. A locking strap affixed to one strap is folded over the outer face of the other strap, and cooperating friction fasteners on the inside face of the locking strap and on the outer face of the other strap are frictionally secured so the folded-over locking strap covers the free end of the other strap and forms a double-lock friction fastener which resists pulling apart of the friction fasteners which form the loop.

  • Patent number: 4707906
Abstract: A tube holder for hospital tubing comprises an elongated strip with opposing upper and lower faces formed as a plurality of side-by-side, open-ended sleeve like receptacles of varying enclosed cross-sectional area. In one embodiment, the strip is a spring metal piece with a reverse bend forming upper and lower legs with undulating surfaces formed in at least one of the legs, but preferably both of the legs, so that oppositely facing undulations on the upper and lower legs cooperate to form the spaced apart receptacles. Each receptacle has an entrance opening formed by a portion of the upper face being spaced from the lower face by a minimum distance. The entrance opening to each receptacle has a smaller dimension than the maximum dimension of its corresponding receptacle. Each receptacle is movable, say by prying apart the upper and lower legs to increase the spacing at the entrance openings for allowing tubing to slip sideways into any one of the receptacles.

  • Patent number: 4685454
Abstract: A patient is restrained in a wheelchair or hospital bed by a jacket disposed around the upper torso of the patient so that it makes a snug fit around the shoulders and upper torso of the patient. The jacket includes sleeves for extending along the arms of the patient. Adjustable ties on both sides of the midriff region of the jacket are tied to adjust the size of the jacket midriff region to fit the size of the patient and for retaining the adjusted size of the jacket. Fasteners in the form of restraining straps extend away from opposite sides of the jacket for attachment to a fixture such as the understructure of the hospital bed or wheelchair or wheelchair. In one embodiment, a zipper fastener opens and closes the rear of the jacket, and the zipper is offset from the rear center of the jacket so that it does not apply pressure to the spinal column of the patient when the jacket is worn.
