  • Patent number: 8893345
Abstract: A cleaning article optionally removably attachable to a handle. The cleaning article has a layer of tow fibers and a layer of sheet material, joined together in a layered construction. The sheet has apertures therethrough, so that the tow fibers may intercept the apertures. By intercepting the apertures, the tow fibers can become entangled, promoting fluffing of the tow fibers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 9, 2012
Date of Patent: November 25, 2014
Assignee: The Procter & Gamble Company
    Inventor: John Thomas Cooper

  • Patent number: 6759567
Abstract: A personal care product that has a liquid impermeable backsheet, a liquid permeable topsheet, and an absorbent composite located between the topsheet and backsheet. The absorbent composite has an upper layer made of synthetic fiber with at most 20 weight percent pulp and the upper layer has a density between about 0.03 and 0.15 g/cc and a basis weight between about 20 to 75 gsm. The composite has a lower layer having from 80 to 95 weight percent pulp, at most 20 weight percent binder, and has a density greater than the upper layer and between 0.06 and 0.20 g/cc, and a basis weight between 120 and 200 gsm.

  • Patent number: 6394652
Abstract: The present invention provides a flexible bag comprising at least one sheet of flexible sheet material assembled to form a semi-enclosed container having an opening defined by a periphery. The opening defines an opening plane, and bag is expandable in response to forces exerted by contents within the bag to provide an increase in volume of the bag such that said the accommodates the contents placed therein.

  • Publication number: 20010009173
Abstract: The present invention provides a high surface area insulating film comprising a sheet of material, wherein the sheet material includes a first region and a second region being comprised of the same material composition. The first region undergoes a substantially molecular-level deformation and the second region initially undergoes a substantially geometric deformation when the sheet material is subjected to an applied elongation along at least one axis. The first region and the second region are visually distinct from one another, wherein the second region includes a plurality of raised rib-like elements and the first region is substantially free of rib-like elements.

  • Patent number: 5833678
Abstract: Disclosed is an absorbent article having a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet joined to the topsheet, and an absorbent core positioned therebetween, in which the absorbent core is enveloped by a primary core integrity layer comprising a continuous mesh of strands of thermoplastic material which is joined to the topsheet and/or the backsheet. The primary core integrity layer is particularly useful for improving the wet integrity of absorbent cores comprising an upper acquisition/distribution layer and a lower storage layer.
