  • Patent number: 8782305
Abstract: Example methods and systems for transmitting data are presented. In one example, a plurality of streams of video data are received from at least one data source into at least one buffer of a router via multicast, each of the plurality of streams of video data representing a same video program and having a unique data rate relative to at least some other streams of the plurality of streams. A request is received from a device to transmit video data to the device. In response to the request, video data from one of the plurality of streams of video data is transmitted from the at least one buffer of the router to the device via a point-to-point connection at the data rate corresponding to the one of the plurality of streams of video data.

  • Publication number: 20140020913
Abstract: A method for improving the SWAG process for extracting the hydrocarbon, bitumen, from tar sands by injecting carbon dioxide into the reservoir. Said carbon dioxide will dissolve in the bitumen producing a solution having increased producibility greatly above that of the native bitumen. Recovery of the bitumen CO2 solution can be further enhanced by heat. Heat can be supplied by various means including elevating the temperature of the carbon dioxide prior to injection, injecting a mixture of carbon dioxide and steam or generating heat in-situ by including oxygen, preferably purified, with any of the above-mentioned injectants. This invention is ideally conducted through, but not limited to, the use of horizontal wells completed near the top and base of the reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20130219427
Abstract: In example embodiments, a system and method for dynamically scheduling advertising is provided. For example, an advertisement order that describes an advertising campaign in logical terms is received. Stored data of statistically sampled metrics associated with previously distributed programs may be accessed. Based on the stored data and requirements indicated in the advertisement order, the logical terms of the advertising campaign may be translated into physical parameters adapted to facilitate placement of advertisements into an advertising schedule. The physical parameters of the advertising campaign may be provided to a device for creating the advertising schedule.

  • Publication number: 20130031582
Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for automatic localization of advertisements is provided. In example embodiments, a transmission signal is received. A portion of the transmission signal is identified. A determination of whether localized advertisement data corresponds to the identified portion is performed. Localized advertisement data that correspond to the identified portion of the transmission signal is retrieved. The localized advertisement data is then inserted into the identified portion of the transmission signal to generate an altered signal. The altered signal is transmitted to a user device.

  • Publication number: 20130024293
Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for offering and billing advertisement opportunities are provided. In example embodiments, an advertisement opportunity in media to be communicated to a user device associated with a viewer is identified. Attributes of the advertisement opportunity are determined. Based on these attributes, a value to assign to the advertisement opportunity is determined. The advertisement opportunity is offered to a potential advertiser based on the assigned value determined using the attributes of the advertisement opportunity.

  • Publication number: 20130010793
Abstract: Methods and systems for transmitting data are presented. Data received from at least one data source is retained in at least one buffer. In one example, initial hierarchical data may be provided from the at least one buffer to a device, followed by additional hierarchical data. In one example, the data is received into the at least one buffer via a multicast connection, and the data is provided to the device via a point-to-point connection.

  • Publication number: 20090119723
Abstract: Systems and methods to play out advertisements are described. A system includes a request module to receive a request to render primary content to an output device at a receiving device at an accelerated speed of the primary content. The system also includes a communication module to select secondary content from a plurality of secondary content based on secondary metadata associated with the secondary content and primary metadata. The system also includes a render module to render the secondary content instead of the primary content to the output device at the receiving device. The render module renders the secondary content at a normal speed of the secondary content responsive to receipt of the request.
