  • Publication number: 20240198416
Abstract: A molten metal pump post that includes an elongated rod of a first material that is heat resistant and an inner member at least partially surrounding the elongated rod. The inner member is of a second material. The elongated rod is operable due to a difference in a coefficient of thermal expansion between the elongated rod and the inner member which creates a compressive force.

  • Patent number: 11839836
Abstract: Chromatography column components are described. One component, a chromatography plug, can include a body, the body including: a first surface; a second surface opposing the first surface; a passage through the body extending from an opening in the first surface to an opening in the second surface; and a circumferential surface extending from the first surface to the second surface; a plurality of ridges, located on the first surface, wherein each of the plurality of ridges having a first end and an opposed second end, and the first end of each of the plurality of ridges being closer to one another than the second ends of each of the plurality of ridges. In some instances, a bridge can be located between the first ends, the bridge extending into the body. A porous partition can be located on or in the plug.

  • Patent number: 4003278
Abstract: A device for cutting lengths of tubing from a longer tube utilizes an external pair of cutting dies and an internal pair of punches. An eccentric relative motion ("shimmy") of the cutting dies results in the desired cutting of the tube. The punches are inserted into the tube from the end of the tube from which the length of tubing is to be cut. A restraining arrangement prevents the punches from moving farther along the tube than is desired, while a punch positioning mechanism prevents movement of the punches toward the open end of the tube. Thus, the internal punches are accurately positioned with respect to the external cutting dies. A centering arrangement is utilized to insure coaxiality of the punches.
