  • Publication number: 20140064923
Abstract: A pump comprising a housing, an impeller within the housing defining an axis, a front head connected to the housing, a liner disposed between the front head and the impeller, and at least one actuator operatively connected between the front head and the liner to move the liner axially with respect to the impeller, the actuator being adapted for connection to an actuation system.

  • Patent number: 6526201
Abstract: A light emitting diode, LED, to fiber optic cable coupler assembly for use in data communications is disclosed. An integral aspheric lens comprises a base and a dome, both of which are circumvented by a reflective surface. The light rays emitted from the face are either directly incident upon a fiber optic cable face, or are refracted through the base and reflected upon the reflective surface. Once reflected, the rays become incident upon the fiber optic cable face.

  • Patent number: 6195477
Abstract: A robust hybrid fiber optic lighting distribution system incorporating a light source and two fiber optic media to thereby provide high temperature tolerance adjacent the light source and inexpensive and easily maintained light distribution to geographically independent illumination features downstream from the light source. The hybrid fiber optic distribution system includes a light source, a plurality of multi-stranded glass optical fiber (GOF) leads forming part of an optical jumper optically interfaced with the light source, and a plurality of solid core plastic optical fiber (POF) leads forming part of an optical distributor optically interfaced with the optical jumper which provide light distribution to various illumination features throughout the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6116789
Abstract: A coupling assembly for a hybrid fiber optic lighting distribution system including a first coupling member having first cavities for individually receiving first ferrules of glass optical fiber (GOF) leads, a slidably intermitting second coupling member having second cavities for individually receiving second ferrules of plastic optical fiber (POF) leads, and an alignment body which is interfaced between the first and second coupling members so that mating cavities thereof are each respectively aligned with respective pairs of aligned first and second cavities for providing a precisely aligned optical interface between the GOF downstream face of the GOF leads and the POF upstream face of the POF leads. The coupling member further includes a ferrule position assurance member which is affixed to the rear of the second coupling member so as to compress cylindrical springs associated with each second ferrule, whereupon the POF upstream faces are caused to biasably abut the GOF downstream faces.

  • Patent number: 6106162
Abstract: A connector assembly for a hybrid fiber optic lighting distribution system including a connector ferrule for bundling a plurality of glass optical fiber (GOF) leads into a common upstream end and a connector housing into which is received the connector ferrule for attaching the connector ferrule to a fiber optic light source module, wherein the common upstream end of the bundled GOF is optically interfaced with a light transmission coupling rod of the fiber optic light source module.

  • Patent number: 6071001
Abstract: A fiber optic light source module (FOLSM) of a hybrid fiber optic lighting distribution system for distributing light from the FOLSM to various lighting features. The FOLSM includes a base, a lamp holder connected to a forward portion of the base and an access cover connected to a rearward portion of the base independent of the lamp holder. The base has a lamp cavity, a communicating lower rod support and an electrical lead port. The lamp holder has a front cover for covering the lamp cavity, an upper rod support and an annular lamp support member for interfacing with a lamp having a concave mirror. The upper and lower rod supports collectively form a rod support, wherein a square cross-sectioned light transmission connecting rod is seated therein via a resilient grommet. Accordingly, because the lamp support member is integral with the upper rod support, when the concave mirror is seated at the lamp support member the lamp is automatically aligned with respect to the light transmission connecting rod.
