    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for wireless communication and remote surveillance are disclosed. According to one embodiment, the apparatus includes a CMOS based high definition video camera with the structure to perform analytics. Furthermore, the same network access point that sends/receives audio-video signals from the video camera also sends/receives wireless broadband Internet data, which can comply with any wireless networking standard, including but not limited to WiMAX, Wi-Fi and LTE.
