    Abstract: A demulsifying composition is disclosed for aiding extraction of an emulsified oil from an oil and water emulsion. The composition includes one or more non-ionic surfactants having a HLB value of 6 or greater, wherein the non-ionic surfactant is selected from the group consisting of alkoxylated plant oils, alkoxylated plant fats, alkoxylated animal oils, alkoxylated animal fats, alkyl polyglucosides, alkoxylated glycerols, and mixtures thereof. The composition may include silicon containing particles. A method for recovering oil from a corn to ethanol process is also disclosed. The method includes the steps of adding the composition to a process stream of the corn to ethanol process, and extracting oil from the process stream.
