  • Publication number: 20240151574
Abstract: The present invention corresponds to a weigh-in-motion system for motor vehicles based on flexible, fiber-optic sensors. The field of application of the patent object is the measurement of dynamic physical events that are caused directly or indirectly by the passage of a motor vehicle over the sensors. This system consists of 5 blocks: an information processing and display equipment (5) is connected to an optical emission and detection equipment (2), one or more presence sensors (3), a temperature sensor (4), and one or more weight sensors (1). It has advantages over other technologies, such as: simplified manufacture and compact size, sensors immune to electromagnetic interference, long service life, and the possibility of being installed on different types of pavement.

  • Patent number: 9152377
Abstract: Event sounds for a multimedia system are assigned statically and/or dynamically to an event based on internal and/or external events and the like. An associator associates a sound to an event based on these factors. User related information that is implicit and/or explicit can also be used to determine an association between an event sound and an event. A controller controls which sound is played back when a particular event occurs based on the event sound association. Probabilities related to a user's preferences can also be utilized to determine which sound is played back during an occurrence of an event.

  • Patent number: 5664539
Abstract: An inherently fail-safe automatic remote-control and engine protection device of electromechanical/hydraulic assembly is supplied by engine lube oil and controlled by circuitry, acting on an existing non-included throttle or governor, especially in diesel generator standby applications, so as to enhance utility, engine reliability and longevity, all without engine modification. This assembly is a linear actuator, of few parts and no levers, basically comprised of a pull solenoid and a spring-return hydraulic cylinder contained within a guide tube which is held stationary. The solenoid armature is indirectly attached to one end of a cable and the engine governor is linked to the other end. The hydraulic cylinder's rod is rigidly attached to an actuator tube which is a sliding sleeve to the guide tube. The actuator tube itself is coupled to the cable such as to allow independent operation of said cable by solenoid, cylinder, or both.

  • Patent number: 5154150
Abstract: An electromechanical/hydraulic assembly controlled by circuit board, acting on an engine throttle so as to allow for remote control and engine fault protection. An idle solenoid pushes and slides a captive throttle rod through a linear translation bracket so as to move engine throttle to idle position for fixed time upon starting. Engine oil pressure flows through a controlled check valve in reduced flow direction into a solenoid valve and then into a hydraulic cylinder to gradually advance indirectly attached throttle to operating position. Hydraulic cylinder, through pivoted lever, actuates a switch at proper engine speed so as to connect generator load. Upon pushing off button, load is disconnected. Solenoid valve de-energizes blocking oil flow into hydraulic cylinder and allows cylinder to retract under spring pressure by exhausting cylinder into engine sump through drain circuit of solenoid valve.
