    Abstract: A sampling apparatus and process are provided for simultaneously collecting a sample of a pollutant from a measured quantity of ambient atmosphere and a sample of the pollutant from an equal quantity of the ambient atmosphere used in collecting the first sample plus a determined amount of the pollutant deliberately introduced into the second sample. The second sample is used to establish a compensation factor for correcting the determination of the amount of pollutant collected in the first sample for pollutant that passed through the sampling system without being entrapped.
