  • Patent number: 6241127
Abstract: Drink bottles are provided having improve sanitation. In accordance with the preferred feature of the invention, a barrier is disposed around the spout of a squeezable drink bottle so as to inhibit contact between the end of the spout from which liquid is expressed and the lips of a person receiving liquid from a bottle. Elimination of reflux and improved sanitation results.

  • Patent number: 6236095
Abstract: A carrier structure for semiconductor transducers is disclosed. The carrier structure mounts as a single unit to a force-impacted base substrate and includes multiple piezoresistive elements integrally formed with the carrier structure, such that the elements are located on a predetermined elevation level as the carrier structure while maintaining their electrical contacts and their precise positions by using metal traces on a silicon substrate among the piezoresistive elements and bonding wires between the structure the elements.

  • Patent number: 6068008
Abstract: A storable shelter deployable to a dihedral configuration. It includes a central pole with an upright axis, a pair of flexible rectangular panels and a control for them which includes at least one rotatably biased reel, an edge former for each panel, a strut for each panel which strut is rigid when the shelter is deployed, the edge formers extending as a straight body from both sides of the struts, a collar freely slidable on the pole and a mount on the collar rotably mounting the struts. The collar is raised to lower the struts and deploy the panels and lowered to enable the struts to move against the pole where upon the panels are wound on the reel or reels by the rotational bias of the reel or reels.

  • Patent number: 5653673
Abstract: Centrifugal apparatus for the continuous separation of solids-liquid mixtures and the internal washing of separated solids is provided with one or more conduits to deliver washing liquid into centrifugally sedimented solids tumbling and suspending these solids in washing liquid. A distal end of each wash conduit is positioned in close proximity to the inner surface of the centrifuge bowl near the conveyor blade which is adapted to contact the solids upon separation and propel separated solids toward the solids discharge port. The invention includes centrifugal apparatus provided with plurality of cutting tools such as knife blades adapted to cut and separate the sedimented solids. In another aspect of the invention centrifugal apparatus is provided with one or more dip weirs dividing the centrifugally separated liquid pool in the bowl into axially adjacent zones with suitable a passageway for transfer of liquids and solids between adjacent zones.

  • Patent number: 5509882
Abstract: A liquid-solids separator, or centrifuge, of the type having a screw conveyor is provided with a series of offset conveyor flights. A spacer is positioned within the offset of the conveyor flights to form a channel therein. Rinse liquid is introduced into the channel through the central hub of the conveyor. The channel directs the rinse liquid into the heavy phase cake. An opening may be provided at various radial distances for varying the position of introduction of the rinse liquid from the channel. The amount of rinse liquid introduced through various channels formed by the series of offset conveyor flights may also be varied.

  • Patent number: 5261869
Abstract: A decanter centrifuge including a discontinuous screw conveyor having flights only within the generally cylindrical portion of the centrifuge bowl. A restricting disc is provided adjacent to the heavy phase material discharge ports such that the restriction contacts the build-up of heavy phase within the portion of the bowl where the flights are discontinuous.

  • Patent number: 5257968
Abstract: A decanter centrifuge having an inflatable dam for controlling the pond level. Inflation of an annular bladder adjacent to the liquid discharge opening controls the radial height of the pond surface within the bowl of the centrifuge.

  • Patent number: 4764163
Abstract: Decanter pond level or radius is adjusted incrementally by means of an annular retainer plate having an eccentric recess formed in the surface thereof which faces hub openings. The recess receives a plate dam slidably therewithin. Each retainer plate or retainer, typically 6 in number, is mounted over a hub opening. The dam is mounted over the hub opening such that its weir surface substantially coincides with the rotating pond level. By rotating the retainer around the prepositioned dam in increments preset in the retainer, the dam moves radially inwardly or outwardly depending upon the position of the recess eccentricity with respect to the hub opening. The dam is provided with two different weir surfaces, each usable with a different side of the dam, thus permitting the number of adjustments to the pond level to be doubled. A modification discloses infinite or stepless pond level adjustments.
