  • Patent number: 4954210
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing labels from a backing strip upon which the labels are mounted with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing on the labels, the labels being adapted to be peeled away from the backing strip by sharply reversely bending the backing strip over an edge. The used backing strip is automatically collected and stored within the housing as the strip is unwound from the supply roll and the pressure-sensitive adhesive backing labels dispensed from the dispenser. The dispenser includes only one moving part namely a combined take up roll and hand wheel both of which are confined within the housing of the dispenser.

  • Patent number: 4256237
Abstract: A device for dispensing address labels from a stack contained within a receptacle wherein the receptacle comprises two complementary plastic wall sections joined together by an integral flexible hinge along one side of the receptacle with interlocking structure at the opposite side of the receptacle to hold the sections in closed position and the sections having aligned projections within the receptacle to provide an axle for a friction roller for dispensing the individual labels.

  • Patent number: 4103905
Abstract: A variable radius labyrinth seal arrangement for use in a steam turbine apparatus is characterized by a flexible strip member having mounted substantially perpendicular thereto a series of corrugated uprights. The strip is received within a circumferential groove provided in the turbine casing and is flexible to conform to the curvature of the groove, thus permitting seal use in a variety of turbine sizes. The amplitude of the corrugations, or waviness, of the uprights varies in accordance to the magnitude of the flexure of the strip necessary for the strip to conform to the groove curvature. The strip is movably biased within the groove and responds to forces generated by contacts between the uprights and rotating turbine elements by displacing radially outward from that contact.
