  • Patent number: 5938395
Abstract: A carrier-platform device mountable on a utility vehicle. The carrier-platform device includes a frame attached to a standard, front-end snowplow-receiving bracket and a platform attached to the frame. The platform has three degrees of movement. The platform is pivotable from a vertical storage position to a horizontal deployed position. In the deployed position, the platform is further extendable so as to adjust the overall width of the carrier-platform device. The platform is still further adjustable in that the platform is able to be tilted in a ramp-like manner towards the ground. This arrangement allows an item such as an ATV or snowblower to be maneuvered from ground level and onto the platform so as to be transported by the utility vehicle atop the carrier-platform device.

  • Patent number: 4987952
Abstract: Apparatus for dehumidifying or otherwise conditioning the air in a room has a cabinet housing a pair of units side by side. Each unit is essentially a conventional dehumidifier but has its evaporator and evaporator fan above its condenser, compressor and condenser fan and is separated therefrom to establish an upper evaporator section and a lower condenser section. The cabinet has outside air inlet ports opening into the upper and lower sections with each controlled by adjustable dampers. The cabinet also has a port through which air is discharged to the outside by the condenser fans. Separate conditioned air outlets open from the upper section into the room. In addition, the cabinet has ports in its ends to admit air from the room into the upper and lower sections and these are also provided with adjustable dampers.

  • Patent number: 4697530
Abstract: An automatic stoker boiler has a heat transfer compartment above a combustion chamber which is divided by a horizontal partition inclined upwardly from the rear end of the boiler towards but terminating short of the front end thereof to provide a restricted port between the thus established upper and lower portions. An endless link belt establishes the lower portion of the combustion chamber and hot gas conduits extend from the upper portion through the heat transfer compartment to the exhaust and which is provided with a draft inducing fan and adjustable damper. Underfire air under the control of an adjustable damper is introduced into the lower portion of the combustion chamber upwardly through the belt and air jets are delivered into the combustion chamber through the front end both above and below the port. A standby fluid fuel burner is located in the rear end of the upper chamber portion.

  • Patent number: 4389980
Abstract: A boiler has a chamber to contain a charge of wood that rests on the bottom of the chamber with the major portion of the charge within a water jacketed upper portion of the chamber but free to settle as combustion progresses. Combustion is confined to the bottom portion of the chamber due to the cooling effect of the water jacket and to a turbulent cross draft in the combustion zone. A special venturi section in the flue coupled with a pressure blower both induces the flow of hot gases from the combustion zone through a second chamber and a heat exchanger and also provides a stream of air from the venturi section to create the cross draft. An oil burner may be used in conjunction with the second chamber as an alternate heat source. The boiler also has a special base construction and assembly features.
