  • Patent number: 10506877
Abstract: A collapsible tie rack includes a frame member and a hanging assembly. The frame member is configured to be mounted on a wall and encloses a space. The hanging assembly comprises brace members hingedly attached to an inner surface of the frame member to pivot about an end of the frame member to extend from a collapsed configuration to an open configuration and retract from the open configuration to the collapsed configuration. The hanging rods are fixedly attached to the brace members and spaced apart in a parallel arrangement to hang a plurality of ties. In the collapsed configuration, the hanging assembly is retracted and positioned within the space enclosed by the frame member. The hanging assembly is detachably attached to the frame member via one or more attachment elements, for example, latches, etc.

  • Patent number: 8664816
Abstract: A permanent magnet is rotated about an axis extending between opposing north and south poles. The magnetic field of the rotated permanent magnet interacts with magnetic fields of permanent magnets carried by a shuttle for repelling and attracting the fixed permanent magnets, and providing a linear reciprocating movement of the shuttle responsive to the favorable rotary motion of the rotated permanent magnet where the force of the linear motion is captured by an energy storage device.

  • Patent number: 8336409
Abstract: A magnetic piston includes a housing having a tapered bore extending along an axis thereof and a piston having a tapered outside wall mating with the tapered bore of the housing for providing radial and longitudinal movement within the tapered bore about a rotational axis of the piston. A shaft is connected to the piston for movement along its longitudinal axis thereof, wherein the axes of the tapered bore and piston are generally aligned along the longitudinal axis. A first set of magnets is embedded within the outside wall of the piston and a second set of magnets is embedded within a surface of a wall forming the bore of the housing. The polarity for each of the magnets within the sets provides attracting and repelling forces causing rotation of the piston relative to the housing and a linear movement of the shaft along the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 6766479
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel structure and process for detecting protocol errors on a communications bus. According to one aspect of the invention, a protocol error detector comprises a physical error detector, a sequential error detector, and a logical error detector, each detecting physical, sequential, and logical protocol violations, respectively, and signaling a bus transaction error when a protocol violation is detected. In one embodiment, the protocol error detector substantially simultaneously checks each bus transaction for physical, sequential, and logical protocol violations. In another embodiment, the protocol error detector signals a detected bus transaction protocol violation substantially coincident with the bus transaction.
