Patent number: 11596753Abstract: Ventilator enables operator to enter into the microprocessor estimate of a patient's individual characteristic, such as weight, which the microprocessor uses to control delivered tidal volume and other parameters to match the patient. The operator can select one of several ventilator operational modes (intube, mask, CPR). Sensors input data to the microprocessor to maintain parameter optimizations and accuracy. Visual/audible alarms and tools activate when one or more parameters exceed or fail to exceed predetermined values for patient's weight. Manual over-ride is available. The ventilator has a quick start capability in which the operator turns on power, selects the automatic operating mode, enters patient's characteristic, selects control option starting automatic ventilation of proper volumes inhalation/exhalation periods, pressure, and oxy-air mixture.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2015Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: ZOLL Medical CorporationInventors: Leslie H. Sherman, George Beck, Douglas R. Connelly, John W. Freeman

Patent number: 4519582Abstract: A seal assembly is disclosed in connection with a valve, preferably a sliding gate valve. The seal assembly includes a retaining ring having a surface contour complementary to that on a resilient, replaceable seal element, in order to positively hold the seal in position during use. The ring also includes a threaded portion that may be received in a threaded section either in the valve body or in a separate valve seat collar secured within the valve body. In one embodiment, the seal includes an annular metallic component having an annular groove, into which a resilient component is secured.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1982Date of Patent: May 28, 1985Assignee: Seaboard Wellhead Control, Inc.Inventor: John W. Freeman

Patent number: 4054978Abstract: A valve bonnet structure has an inner ring spaced slightly from the inner surface of the bonnet structure and secured along its lower edge portion to the bonnet. An angle-shaped member having a downturned leg lapping the ring is secured to the inner surface of the bonnet structure above the ring. For repair of the valve, an upper valve bonnet portion having the angle-shaped member thereon is removed by a cutting tool with the ring remaining in place on the lower valve bonnet portion. After repair of the valve, the upper and lower valve bonnet portions are welded together adjacent the ring with the downturned leg thereon fitting over the ring, and a seal between the leg and ring prevents fluid within the valve structure from being exposed to the welding operation.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1976Date of Patent: October 25, 1977Assignee: ACF Industries, IncorporatedInventors: John W. Freeman, Thomas M. Jones, Harold D. Reagan

Patent number: 3976130Abstract: A packing for a wellhead assembly to seal between a casing and a bore within the wellhead as the casing moves longitudinally in the wellhead in response to thermal conditions. The packing is mounted on the exterior free upper end portion of the casing inside the wellhead bore.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1975Date of Patent: August 24, 1976Assignee: ACF Industries, IncorporatedInventors: Joe G. Chambless, John W. Freeman
