  • Publication number: 20040060747
Abstract: A mini-excavator includes a base supported by first and second track assemblies on which the vehicle travels. The base supports an operator support, which includes first and second travel control devices, such as travel levers. Each of first and second closed-loop hydrostatic systems of the mini-excavator are coupled between different ones of the travel control devices and the track assemblies to control the speed and direction of travel of the track assemblies. Each of the closed-loop hydrostatic systems includes a closed-loop travel motor and a closed-loop pump coupled directly to the closed-loop travel motor.

  • Patent number: 4947956
Abstract: A hydrostatic drive vehicle includes an articulated frame formed by forward and rearward transmission cases which are pivotally joined. A first set of wheels is rotatably mounted to the forward transmission case, while a second set of wheels is rotatably mounted to the rearward transmission case. A first hydraulic motor is coupled to the first set of wheels by a chain reduction linkage and limited slip differential which are mounted within the forward transmission case. A second hydraulic motor is coupled to the second set of wheels by a chain reduction linkage and limited slip differential mounted within the rearward transmission case. An engine and hydraulic pump are mounted to the frame. The first and second hydraulic motors are coupled to the hydraulic pump in a series hydraulic circuit.

  • Patent number: 4930589
Abstract: A guidebar used on a walk-beside articulated machine having a first machine portion and a second machine portion which swivel about a pivot point. A first bar portion has a first end and a swivel end. The first end is fixably attached to the first machine portion. A swing arm has a first swing arm end and a second swing arm end. The first swing arm end is pivotally attached to the second machine portion. A second bar portion has a first end and a second end. The first end is pivotally attached to the second swing arm end and the second end is pivotally attached to the swivel end of the first bar portion.

  • Patent number: 4583760
Abstract: A stabilizer attachment for a work vehicle. The attachment is linear in operation and when it is attached adjacent one end of a vehicle and is then extended it raises the adjacent wheel off the ground. Another stabilizer attachment on the other side of the vehicle when operated raises the corresponding wheel on the other side off the ground. With the two wheels off the ground more down pressure is exerted on a ground engaging implement and the stabilizers act as a brake securing the work vehicle in position during operation of the implement.

  • Patent number: 4568095
Abstract: A system for controlling two wheels at one end of a skid steer vehicle. The wheels are mounted at the distal ends of a pair of downwardly extending pivot arms; the pivot arms are mounted on the vehicle body about a common transverse axis. Two hydraulic cylinders can be operated simultaneously in either direction to raise or lower the ends of both the pivot arms thereby lowering or raising one end of the vehicle. The two hydraulic cylinders under another operating condition for the vehicle are interconnected through a hydraulic loop circuit which permits the wheel on one side of the vehicle to move upwardly and the wheel on the other side move downwardly the same amount to automatically change the attitude of the vehicle to a more nearly level position.

  • Patent number: 4117902
Abstract: The cooling system of a skid-steer loader provides a high mount radiator and employs negative pressure to cool the engine. Circulating air is drawn into the engine compartment at the rear thereof, is carried over the engine and is blown out through the radiator provided at the forward top portion of the engine compartment to cool the fluid circulating therethrough. An oil cooler for hydraulic fluid is mounted underneath the radiator at a forward portion of the engine compartment.
