  • Patent number: 9672580
Abstract: An automated method is provided for generating summary data regarding task items that must occur to achieve a database lock for a clinical trial study that is performed based on a previously defined clinical trial protocol. The clinical trial study is managed using a processor and a database in communication with the processor. The database includes clinical trial data and the status of the data for a plurality of patients participating in the clinical trial study. At least one clinical database lock criterion is defined for the study from at least a plurality of user-selected subsets of the clinical trial data. The processor receives the at least one clinical database lock criterion for the study, and the clinical trial data and the status of the data, as retrieved from the database, for the plurality of patients participating in the clinical trial study as defined by the clinical database lock criteria.

  • Publication number: 20110238438
Abstract: An automated method is provided of graphically displaying predicted patient enrollment in a clinical trial study. The study has a plurality of clinical sites for enrolling patients in the study. A database is provided that includes a patient enrollment rate for each clinical site and a date of initial patient enrollment for each clinical site. Clinical site launch data is entered into a user interface display screen, including a target number of patients to be enrolled in the study, and a target date for completing the enrollment of the target number of patients. A graphical display is then generated of a running total number of patients predicted to be enrolled in the study for a succession of time periods from the data that is provided and entered via the user interface display screen.

  • Publication number: 20110173021
Abstract: An automated process generates a displayable report of the status of clinical research sites in a clinical trial to identify readiness of sites to accept patients. The clinical trial has a plurality of sites in multiple countries which accept patients. A plurality of electronically tracked site-based milestones and separate country-based milestones are provided for the clinical trial. Each site is associated with a country. The status of the site-based milestones and country-based milestones are electronically tracked in a database. The site-based milestones and the country-based milestones are tracked separately from each other. A displayable report of the status of the electronically tracked site-based milestones and country-based milestones is automatically generated in a processor. The report separately identifies the status of the site-based milestones and the country-based milestones.

  • Patent number: 7921125
Abstract: A virtual data room distributes information associated with an investigational product, such as an investigational compound. The information includes documents associated with the investigational product; and reports based on live clinical study data of the investigational product. The live clinical study data includes cleaned and not cleaned data records. For a designated subset of data records, the reports use data associated with only cleaned data records, and for the remaining data records, the reports use data regardless of whether the data is associated with cleaned or not cleaned data records.

  • Patent number: 6082887
Abstract: A game machine includes a tournament mode for conducting automated tournaments. In the tournament mode, a plurality of tournament games are playable by a plurality of players on the game machine. Each of the plurality of tournament games generates a total player score upon completion of game play. The player scores are used to determine the tournament winners. One or more sequences of tournament games are preprogrammed from the plurality of tournament games, and a tournament period is programmed for each tournament game. The preprogrammed tournament game for each sequence is playable during the programmed tournament period for the respective sequence. A plurality of sequences of tournament games may be preprogrammed to run simultaneously. The tournament sequences may either continuously repeat or may end after the last tournament in the sequence is completed.

  • Patent number: 6076021
Abstract: A system is provided for handicapping unranked players in a dart game match, wherein the match includes a plurality of successively played games. Upon initiation of a match, a default average is assigned to an unranked player. An initial handicap is calculated for the unranked player based on the difference between the default average and an actual average of a ranked opponent of the unranked player. The initial handicap is then used for the first game in the match. At the end of the first game, a first new handicap is calculated for the unranked player based at least upon the unranked player's actual average in the first game. The first new handicap is used for the second game in the match. The unranked player's handicap is repeatedly recalculated after completion of each game in the match based at least upon the unranked player's actual average in previous games of the match. The recalculated handicaps are used for the next game in the match.

  • Patent number: 5681044
Abstract: A dart game controller and method of controlling a dart game is provided wherein a dart board has a plurality of target areas, each target area corresponding to a target value. A preset number of target values are stored in a memory. A mark detector identifies at a predetermined stage of game play which of the target values stored in the memory have been marked at least once by a player, but have not been marked more than a preset number of times by any of the plurality of players. Next, a number generator selects a replacement target value for each identified target value. The replacement target value is stored in the memory in place of the respective previous target value. The target value in the memory for each target value not identified by the mark detector remains unchanged. The method and apparatus is suitable for use in playing a variation of Random Cricket.

  • Patent number: 4955967
Abstract: A detection system for detecting darts which have missed the target in an electronically secored dart game is comprised of first audio sensor circuitry located proximate to the dart board target for detecting sounds created when a dart strikes either the dart board target or the housing in the vicinity of the target and generating an electrical signal upon the detection of such sounds. A second audio sensor circuit located remote from the target is employed for detecting sounds that simulate the sounds created when a dart strikes either the target or the housing in the vicinity of the target and for generating an electrical signal upon the detection of such simulated sounds. The outputs from the audio sensor circuitry are compared and an output comparison signal is generated only when a signal is received from the first audio sensor circuit in the absence of a signal from the second audio sensor circuit.
