Abstract: A dental press or jig for rigidly positioning during a short curing period, a matching pair of dentures held in occlusal alignment with one or both having a contacting layer of relining material pressed against a respective model of the patient's mouth, all clamped together by the press within a body of plaster of Paris. The laterally-open press is formed of a pair of annular plates or disks, vertically spaced apart a constant distance by three, upstanding, peripheral posts which are thus tensioned against opposite faces of the composite workpiece. Each plate is formed with plaster escape-channels leading to catch basins on the outer faces, the basins being defined by a reinforcing pattern of diametric ribs within a peripheral rim which render the plates unbendable under pressure. The assembly may be molded of glass-reinforced terephthalate resin for high tensile and flex resistant properties.

Abstract: A transparent, generally cylindrical, wide-mouth pressure retaining vessel or container cast of synthetic resin with a surrounding side wall formed by successively downwardly inset, annular wall segments, and externally reinforced by integral vertical ribs with successive annular edges of the inner stepped face providing support ledges adapted to hold removable shelves upon which freshly cast dentures, acrylic hobby items, pressure-curable art objects, etc. as well as fermentable foodstuff and gas-generating chemicals may be placed for exposure to externally applied and/or internally generated fluid pressure (gas or liquid). Necessity for retention clamps is eliminated by a threadedly mounted closure which carries a manually operable, threaded piston stem disposing a piston in an open-bottom chamber of the cover, which chamber projecting into a container full of liquid causes the latter to fill the piston chamber upon the cover being mounted on the container.

Abstract: Dental articulator formed with individually adjustable, upper and lower carrier plates, each having means for quick-coupling to one of an interchangeable pair of planar mounts (each mount adapted to adhesively support an assembled denture against one of its faces). A pair of matching dentures can thus be assembled either within or away from the articulator, mounted and tested for occlusion therein, and subsequently reworked (as often as necessary) either within or when removed from the articulator. Essentially a pair of thrust-coupling or threaded attachment means on the carrier plate or on the mount, engage corresponding sockets of the opposite member. Formulation of the mount of inexpensive plastic enables discard after single use.
