Patent number: 7334215Abstract: A software control manager for identifying, authorizing, and coordinating software controls within an operating environment is disclosed. The operating environment may reside on a computing platform. The controls provide functionality to the operating environment and are used to retrieve or gather information. The manager coordinates the information to the controls. The manager also registers the controls as the controls are placed within the operating environment. Registered controls are listed in a control list within the manager. The manager may perform a security process in registering the controls. The manager also provides information on the operating environment and other controls to controls added to the operating environment. The manager facilitates the other controls retrieving information and associating the information with existing data on the computing platform.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2002Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: Lockheed Martin CorporationInventors: Kenneth C. Publication number: 20040185728Abstract: Textiles treated with hydrophobic dispersions that exhibit superior drying rates and lower spin-dry water contents are disclosed. Polytetrafluoroethylene, polyvinyl acetate, and polyvinyl acetate/acrylic copolymer dispersions are used to treat textiles, including yarns, fabrics, linens, and articles of clothing. The use of dispersions create textiles with a discontinuous treatment of discrete individual hydrophobic particles applied to the surface. The treated textiles exhibit superior drying properties at very low levels of treatment. Also provided are methods for treating textiles with hydrophobic dispersions. The incremental cost to the textile of the treatment is minimized by low levels of treatment and flexibility in application.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 21, 2003Publication date: September 23, 2004Applicant: Optimer, Inc.Inventors: John W. Moore, Christopher S. Moore

Patent number: 5435210Abstract: A differential drive mechanism comprises a cage, which is rotatable about a first axis and represents the input, two coaxial output shafts which are rotatable with respect to the cage about the first axis, a coupling which is connected eccentrically to the two output shafts to transmit relative contra-rotational movement between them by connections which permit relative rotation of the coupling and the output shafts about a second axis parallel to the first axis and a restraint member which is coupled to the cage and to the coupling such that the coupling is rotatable with respect to the cage about a third axis perpendicular to the axis and capable of reciprocation in a direction perpendicular to the first axis but prevented from movement in a direction parallel to the first axis. The eccentric connections are constituted by a respective eccentric hole in the inner end of each output shaft in which the associated end of the coupling is received.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1993Date of Patent: July 25, 1995Assignees: Ricardo Consulting Engineers Limited, Axial Wave Drive BV Bridge WorksInventors: John W. Patent number: 5299330Abstract: An easy access shower base assembly is disclosed which generally comprises a shower base, a ramp, and clips for attaching the ramp to the shower base. The shower base comprises a basin, a generally horizontal front ledge at the front of the basin, with a lip depending downwardly from the front edge of the ledge, and a generally horizontal boundary ledge, vertically higher than the front ledge. The ramp has a thin front edge and a thicker back edge, the thickness of the back edge being less than the height of the lip. The ramp is substantially the same length as the front ledge and the back edge of the ramp is generally even with the front ledge of the shower base. The ramp extends angularly downward from the back edge to the thin front edge. Also in the preferred embodiment, the shower base assembly further comprises at least one water trap for collecting water from the boundary ledge and for causing the collected water to drain into the basin of the shower base.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1992Date of Patent: April 5, 1994Assignee: The Swan CorporationInventors: John W.
