  • Patent number: 7461145
Abstract: Groups of network devices may be identified automatically based on interface tags associated with network device interfaces such that network devices within a group are automatically identified, periodically or otherwise, based on an association of one or more common interface tags between the group and the network device interface.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 27, 2006
Date of Patent: December 2, 2008
    Assignee: AOL LLC
Inventors: Norman Ari Hirschman, Eric M. Wall, John W. Pierce
  • Publication number: 20080048444
Abstract: A pipe coupling for joining pipe elements end-to-end is disclosed. The pipe coupling is formed of segments attached to one another circumferentially straddling the pipe elements. The segments are formed from sub-sections connected to one another end-to-end. Each sub-section has a surface region disposed to engage the outer surfaces of the pipe elements. Each surface region has a different radius of curvature from a surface region on a neighboring sub-section. The radii are selected so that when the coupling segments are deformed around the pipe elements, portions of surface regions of selected sub-sections contact the pipe elements, while portions of surface regions of those sub-sections between the selected portions remain in spaced relation away from the pipe elements. A constant and minimal torque is required to bolt the segments together as a result.

  • Patent number: 5952544
Abstract: The preparation and use of nucleic acid fragments encoding fatty acid desaturase enzymes are described. The invention permits alteration of plant lipid composition. Chimeric genes incorporating such nucleic acid fragments with suitable regulatory sequences may be used to create transgenic plants with altered levels of unsaturated fatty acids.

  • Patent number: 5773699
Abstract: There is provided isolated nucleic acid fragments that encode soybean seed and zucchini leaf galactinol synthase. Chimeric genes including those fragments and suitable regulatory genes are also provided that are capable of transforming plants to produce galactinol synthase at levels higher or lower than that found in the target plant. Transformed plants and seeds are also provided for. Methods for varying the content of D-galactose-containing oligosaccharides of sucrose in plants are also provided.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5257792
Abstract: A metal well head seal for sealing between inner and outer concentric well head components which includes a circular metal seal having a flat end and a tapered end and positioned between the inner and outer components. A forcing cone on one of the components engages the tapered end for sealing, a backup shoulder engages the flat end as the inner and outer components are longitudinally moved together for setting the metal seal. An adjusting nut adjusts the tolerances between the tapered end and the forcing cone.
