The product label may also include one or more connectors for electrically coupling the electronic identification device to the wireless communication. The wireless communication device may be configured to receive the information identifying the one or more products via the one or more connectors and wirelessly communicate the information to the wireless communication system. Patent number: 7510123Abstract: A contact-based system for inexpensively monitoring the presence, location, and timing of various advertising and merchandising materials at a variety of retail facilities has been disclosed. This includes sign holders, display holders, stocking section identifiers, and the like that contain a plurality of contact point sensors that match or mate with contacts positioned on the material to be monitored. Identifying contacts are placed on the material to be monitored at a factory such that when they are inserted into a pre-specified location at a facility, contact is made. Patent number: 6429787Abstract: A system for transmitting data between a rotating system and a stationary system. This system has a patch antenna affixed to the surface of a rotating body. A transmitter splits an RF signal into n identical RF signals. The n RF signals are phase shifted to have phases that are 360 divided by n degrees apart. The RF signals are then sequentially applied to the n patch antennas which broadcast the RF signals. A stationary receive antenna receives broadcast RF signals from one of the n patch antennas at a time. As a first antenna rotates out of range of the receive antenna, second antenna rotates into range.
