  • Patent number: 5076486
Abstract: An aluminum foil has, sputtered upon it, a foil of tungsten, upon which a foil of gold is sputter deposited. The gold foil may be placed next to a gold substrate, and the three-foil combination bonded to the substrate with a stylus, upon which ultrasound is impressed, in the presence of a moderately elevated temperature. An aluminum region the size of the tip of the stylus is thus made available for an aluminum wire to be bonded to it, without any direct contact between the aluminum wire and the gold substrate.

  • Patent number: 4309017
Abstract: A planar, three-member, reversable two-position frame hanger capable of coupling to and holding an art frame in a first flat configuration against a wall or in a second stand-off position away from the wall is presented. The hanger includes a first support member having a base which is coupled to the frame slightly above the center of gravity of the frame. The base is axially symmetrical and has coupled thereto side members of the width that the frame is to stand-off from the wall. A top member coupled to the base locks the two side members into stand off position. For large frames, two lower members, each comprising a base with side members coupled thereto along a fold line, maintain the frame parallel to the wall. The two side members of the bottom members coupled together provide spacing in the stand-off position.

  • Patent number: 4143848
Abstract: A mounting assembly for supporting posters, pictures, and other art objects on a vertical surface, comprising first and second mounting means adapted for supporting the art object at two horizontally spaced points, each mounting means including a post, means for securing one end of the post to the vertical surface with the longitudinal axis thereof perpendicular to the surface, and a disc having an off-center hole therein, the diameter and cross-sectional shape of the hole being approximately the same as those of the post, the post extending through the hole in the disc, the discs of the two mounting means being adapted to support the art object on the uppermost edges thereof, the discs of the two mounting means being individually rotatable relative to their associated posts to level an art object supported thereon.
