  • Patent number: 5460853
Abstract: A method of sequential deposition of source materials onto a web substrate. A substrate transfer mechanism imparts continuous movement of a substrate past a plurality of deposition sources during vapor deposition of deposition source materials. Every portion of the substrate is exposed to deposition fluxes from the deposition sources in an alternating periodic manner. The number of source exposures is greater than the number of sources.

  • Patent number: 4812633
Abstract: A wallet-sized data card includes a magneto-optic active region configured for rotational recording of data. A fender projecting outwardly from the card is disposed adjacent an outer circumference of the recording region for protecting the magneto-optic recording region.

  • Patent number: 4319740
Abstract: A sheet feeder for feeding a single sheet from a stack of sheets by using a rotating cylindrical feed roller having a truncatel portion spaced away from the stack and a full diameter portion able to contact the stack whenever it is lifted by a lifting arm, which is pivoting in a timed relationship to the feed roller. This device simplifies sheet timing and eliminates the need for a constant biasing of the stack against a feeding member.

  • Patent number: 4319742
Abstract: A device for detecting and indicating a depletion of the supply of sheets in a sheet feeder of the type having a lifting arm used to lift the sheets toward a feeding member. The device utilizes the increased movement of the lifting arm due to the depleting stack to energize an indicator. The device also has the capability of utilizing magnetic members to latch the indicator in an energized condition until the supply of sheets is replenished, which then automatically de-energize the indicator.

  • Patent number: 4255650
Abstract: A mechanical counting device for use in office machines such as copying machines in which almost all of the operative structure has been integrated into a single component. The surface works in conjunction with a ratchet pawl to count down from a preselected number, the number of completed cycles performed by the office machine. The counter energizes and de-energizes the office machine's operation at the start and finish respectively of this preselected number of cycles. In addition the counter includes a position for the continuous operation of the office machine without counting, and the capability to stop the operation of the office machine without disrupting the counting sequence.
