  • Patent number: 4709633
Abstract: A control circuit for controlling ink supplied to the inking surface of an intaglio printing device includes a sensor for sensing voids in the ink on the inking surface. The control circuit provides a predetermined volume of ink to a reservoir when such a void is detected. A timer inhibits the control circuit for a predetermined time after each ink transfer to avoid overfilling the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4623879
Abstract: A system for verifying the position of a moveable table within a narrow range includes a sensor which yields an output proportional to the travel of the moveable table. A comparator receives the output and provides an output pulse when the travel is within a selected range. A pulse generator receives the output pulse and provides a control pulse. Logic means receives the control pulse and provides either an alarm signal or a ready signal.

  • Patent number: 4451879
Abstract: A circuit for providing a common setpoint for both automatic and manual operation of a process control system includes a process controller. A parameter of the process can be changed by changing the output of a controller. A variable input voltage to the process controller establishes the setpoint of the parameter. Changes in the variable voltage are made either manually or automatically so that a common setpoint is established for both types of operation.

  • Patent number: 4445526
Abstract: A system and method for continuously maintaining the specific gravity and viscosity of the slurry applied to a television picture tube includes a container for dispensing slurry to the faceplate of such a tube and for receiving excess slurry from the faceplate. The level of slurry in the container is held constant by the addition of materials to the container. The first added material has a specific gravity greater than that of the material dispensed to the faceplate. The second material has a viscosity which is greater than that of the material dispensed to the faceplate. The quantity of the third material is determined by the specific gravity and viscosity corrections required to bring the parameters of the slurry in the first container to the preselected values. By adding the three materials to the dispenser in accordance with error signals representative of the three parameters, the specific gravity, viscosity and level are continuously held within specified limits.
