  • Publication number: 20070283828
Abstract: An external drum platesetter, including: two or more drums aligned along a same rotational axis for supporting one or more printing plates; one or more rails positioned parallel to the rotational axis of the drums; a single imaging head mounted on and moveable along the one or more rails, where the imaging head includes a laser source or ink jets for transferring an image to the one or more printing plates; one or more motors for rotating the drums together or individually; and a computer for controlling operation of the platesetter in accordance with instructions stored or transferred to the computer.

  • Patent number: 7262878
Abstract: An imaging system is disclosed for imaging recording media. The imaging system includes an input opening through which recording media may be input to the imaging system, and an imaging unit for imaging the recording media that is received through the input opening. The imaging unit provides a calibration image on the recording media. The imaging system also includes a calibration image receiving unit for receiving image data representative of the calibration image. The calibration image receiving unit produces imaging unit calibration adjustment data. The imaging system also includes an imaging unit adjustment controller, and an output opening. The imaging unit adjustment controller adjusts the imaging unit responsive to the imaging unit calibration adjustment data. The recording media exits the imaging system through the output opening.

  • Patent number: 6772691
Abstract: An imaging system is disclosed for imaging and registering recordable media. The imaging system includes an input opening through which recordable media may be input to the imaging system, an imaging unit, a registration unit and an output opening through which registered imaged media may exit the imaging system. The imaging unit is for imaging the recordable media that is received through the input opening, and provides imaged media. The registration unit is for receiving imaged media from the imaging unit, and for registering the imaged media by creating registration features in the imaged media. The registration unit provides registered imaged media.

  • Publication number: 20040041990
Abstract: An imaging system is disclosed for imaging and photo-processing flexographic media. The imaging system includes an input opening through which flexographic media may be input to the imaging system, an imaging unit, a photo-processing unit, and an output opening. The imaging unit is for imaging the flexographic media that is received through the input opening, and provides imaged flexographic media. The photo-processing unit receives the imaged flexographic media, and photo-processes the imaged flexographic media by illuminating the flexographic media. The photo-processing unit provides photo-processed imaged flexographic media. The photo-processed imaged flexographic media may exit the imaging system through the output opening.

  • Patent number: 5872367
Abstract: A stable mount for mounting a narrow bandwidth beam generating source such as a laser or electron beam. The mount places two such devices in substantially vertical alignment with each other. One of the sources is completely adjustable with respect to the other. The device is especially suitable for the imaging field where it is desired to couple two laser heads each having one or a multiple of individual laser beams. The laser heads formerly subjected to mechanical vibration and temperature induced drift, can now be precisely located, adjusted and stabilized one to the next. This allows for increased job throughput without sacrificing the fidelity or macroscopic quality of the resulting image. The device is also suitable for use in photo microlithography where precise alignment is critical.
