Abstract: An improved metal surface and die protecting lubricating dry-drawing mixture, substantially in the form of a powder, is provided and is applied to the surface of a cleaned and an alkaline coated metal or steel workpiece such as a rod or wire. It serves to eliminate the need for a metal draw coating and to eliminate limitations in previous drawing procedures from the standpoint of speed and maximized amount of total draw reduction.
