  • Patent number: 6547415
Abstract: A portable device is equipped with a clip for attachment thereof to an object. That device is provided with an undercut groove, and the clip is provided with a head fitting into that undercut groove. The clip is attached to the portable device by fitting that head of the clip into that undercut groove. A portable device may comprise a combination of an undercut groove and a device attachment clip having a head fit into that undercut groove. A clip for attachment of a portable device to an object may have a combination of a bent over end portion and lateral protrusions on that bent over end portion, such as for engagement of undercut sides of a groove in a portable device.

  • Patent number: 6439738
Abstract: A battery powered portable electric light source has multiple sets of spare batteries contained in its battery compartment, whereby mixups between exhausted and fresh batteries are effectively avoided. A flashlight having a light output stronger than the mentioned electric light source is provided for use of batteries from the battery compartment of the mentioned portable container, and batteries are exchanged between that portable container and that flashlight. Apparatus for providing electric light have an electric light source requiring for energization a pair of batteries in series and a portable container for several pairs of these batteries connected each in series at a bottom of that container. Each of these several pairs of batteries includes a first battery having a first positive terminal and an opposite first negative terminal, and a second battery having a second positive terminal connected to that first negative terminal and an opposite second negative terminal.

  • Patent number: 6386730
Abstract: A flashlight having a flashlight head with two merged yet independent lamp/reflector systems, the head including a common reflector structure having two reflectors of differing light projecting characteristics, the two reflectors arranged side by side with a common boundary across part of the common reflector structure. A flashlight holder and battery charger includes interacting surfaces on the flashlight and the holder that permit insertion of the flashlight into the holder only when the flashlight is in a predetermined position relative to the holder, require that the flashlight be manually moved or rotated in a predetermined direction after insertion for locking the flashlight in the holder and for permitting battery charging only when the flashlight's lamps are disconnected from the batteries, and require that the flashlight be manually moved or rotated in the opposite direction for permitting removal of the flashlight from the holder.

  • Patent number: 6378237
Abstract: Apparatus for firing projectiles at targets and for illuminating such targets combine a projectile-firing weapon and a target illuminator. A track-and-slide combination includes a slide on the target illuminator and a track structure on the weapon for that slide, and a releasable slide-in-track stop in such rack-and-slide combination. In the case of a firearm that has a trigger actuated by a bent trigger finger of a shooter for the firing thereof, a push-button or transverse slide switch for the target illuminator may be mounted within reach of a pad of such trigger finger prior to actuation of the trigger. For example, the shooter may draw the firearm with his or her trigger finger then outstretched for actuation of the target illuminator switch, and may then bend such trigger finger for firing of the weapon by actuation of the trigger. Such and other appliances may have a battery compartment, and a contact plate interconnecting batteries in such compartment.

  • Patent number: 6345464
Abstract: Apparatus for firing projectiles at targets and for illuminating such targets include a projectile-firing elongate weapon having a fore-end structure and a target illuminator on that fore-end structure in a first quadrant between a vertical plane and a horizontal plane longitudinally through such elongate weapon in a firing position of that weapon. Additionally or alternatively, a target illuminator may include a housing in one piece with part of the fore-end structure. An electric lamp assembly for target illuminators, flashlights or other light sources has a support structure, a bezel structure on that support structure, and a shock-absorbed reflector structure inside that bezel structure. Such shock-absorbed reflector structure includes a reflector having a focal point, a first shock absorber between that reflector and the support structure and a second shock absorber between the bezel structure and that reflector.

  • Patent number: 6267279
Abstract: A holstering device is made for an elongate hand weapon or is made as a standard holstering device for holstering any one of a number of different types of elongate hand weapons. Such holstering device extends along opposite first and second sides of any of these hand weapons and straddles that hand weapon between such opposite first and second sides when that hand weapon is holstered. The holstering device also includes a track structure having in that holstering device a first track at the mentioned first side and a second track at the mentioned second side. Each of such elongate hand weapons is equipped with an adapter having first and second slides complementary with the first and second tracks of the track structure for holstering the adapter in that track structure while holstering any of the elongate hand weapon in that holstering device.

  • Patent number: 6222138
Abstract: An electric appliance includes a first electric power supply of first batteries arranged in a first pattern, and alternatively a different second electric power supply of second batteries arranged in a second pattern. An electrical ON-OFF switch has an ON-OFF position push-button switch actuator and a rotary switch actuator which releasably blocks that ON-OFF position push-button switch actuator in an OFF position. A tail end is equipped with a bistable OFF and ON switching function and with a momentary ON switching function unified into one electric toggle switch having a stable OFF position, a stable ON position, and a momentary ON position. A flashlight beam is cast with a first lamp and reflector assembly, an alternative second lamp and reflector assembly is substituted for that first lamp and reflector assembly and a second light beam of a different configuration is cast with that alternative second lamp and reflector assembly.

  • Patent number: 6112962
Abstract: Holstering systems for hand weapons comprise a track structure provided as a holster for such hand weapons. Each hand weapon may be provided with an adapter complementary with the track structure. The holster may be a standard holster for different types of elongate hand weapons that may have adapters interfacing with such standard holster. Such holsters may have an accommodation for accessories. Security holsters prevent accidental and unauthorized removal of weapons from holsters, such as with the aid of detents, sensors of a hand of a wearer, or other detent deactivators.
