  • Publication number: 20020111059
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly is provided having a connector position assurance device (CPA) and a plug and header. The plug and header have mating interfaces that interconnect to form an electrical connection therebetween. A deflectable latch assembly is mounted on an exterior surface of one of the plug and header. The latch assembly includes at least one latch beam that is deflectable from side-to-side relative to the plug and header along an axis transverse to the direction of engagement between the plug and header. A CPA is provided having a beam blocking portion that blocks lateral movement of the latch assembly. The CPA is movable between first and second positions relative to the latch beam. The beam blocking portion is spaced laterally remote from the latch beam when the CPA is in its first pre-staged position, thereby permitting lateral deflection of the beam along an arcuate path transverse to the direction of engagement between the plug and housing.

  • Patent number: 6361348
Abstract: A right angle coaxial connector assembly 2 includes a shell subassembly 10 and a collar subassembly 70 in addition to a center pin contact 50 and a dielectric sleeve 60. The collar subassembly 70 is spring loaded relative to the shell subassembly 10. The collar assembly 70 is formed by two mating hermaphroditic housings 72. The shell subassembly includes a diecast rear shell 30 and a screw machined front shell 12 that includes flexible snap lock fingers 16 that are held in locking engagement with a mating connector by the collar subassembly 70.

  • Patent number: 6324283
Abstract: Replaceable surge protector assemblies suitable for telephone network interfaces. It has a surge suppresser element covered by a receptacle. In one embodiment the receptacle has an electrically insulating, hollow housing having a top, a floor, opposing side walls, a closed end and an open end defining a central cavity having inside walls. A slot extends through the floor from the open end a part of the distance toward the closed end. A handle projects outwardly from the top. In another embodiment, the receptacle has an electrically insulating, hollow housing element having a tops opposing side walls, opposing ends and an open bottom defining an central cavity. An electrically insulating floor element mates with the open bottom of the housing. The floor element has at least one opening through the floor for receiving wire leads therethrough. Means are provided for attaching the floor element to the housing element at the open bottom. A handle also projects outwardly from the top.
