  • Patent number: 11648734
Abstract: Provided is an additive manufacturing process that uses an upward-pointing illumination source, such as a laser, projected through a substrate so as to solidify particulate matter supported by the substrate. The process is then repeated to build a hanging part layer by layer, for example by replenishing particulate matter on the substrate, or by moving the part a second substrate that supports other particulate matter. The disclosed process eliminates the need for a large powder bed and also allows for sintering of different powders in a single layer so as to give rise to parts that include layers that are themselves made from multiple materials. Also provided are related methods, include methods of incorporated cured resins into parts made by fusing particulate matter.

  • Publication number: 20210115591
Abstract: A CVD single crystal diamond material suitable for use in, or as, an optical device or element. It is suitable for use in a wide range of optical applications such as, for example, optical windows, laser windows, optical reflectors, optical refractors and gratings, and etalons. The CVD diamond material is produced by a CVD method in the presence of a controlled low level of nitrogen to control the development of crystal defects and thus achieve a diamond material having key characteristics for optical applications.

  • Patent number: 10446114
Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus of adjusting color palettes for a display device based on ambient light levels are provided. The apparatus determines a first ambient light level based at least in part on first information received from one or more sensors. A first color palette associated with the first ambient light level is generated. The apparatus determines a first screen brightness level associated with the first ambient light level and displays a first image on a display screen using the first color palette and the first screen brightness level.

  • Patent number: 9959280
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for garbage collecting data previously tiered to cloud storage. A cloud object index can be generated and used to track objects stored in cloud storage. As objects within cloud storage are added or modified, the transactions can be tracked and the cloud object index can updated based on the activity. Expiration dates associated with cloud objects can be maintained in the cloud object index factoring in user defined retention periods, process defined retention periods for services like backup and snapshots, and regulatory defined retention periods depending on the type of data being tiered. Upon a determination that no active processes are linking to a cloud data object, that an expiration date has been met, and other custom factors, cloud objects can be removed from cloud storage permanently.

  • Patent number: 9503542
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for writing back data to files tiered in cloud storage. Files tiered to cloud storage can be stored in chunks where each chunk is stored as a distinct cloud object and where each cloud object is mapped to known offset regions of a file and the mapping is stored in local storage within a stub file. If the file is modified locally, e.g., a write has occurred, the offset range associated with the write can be used to determine which cloud object associated with the file is being modified. A new cloud object can be stored with the write data, while the previous cloud object is retained in cloud storage. The mapping, stored within the stub file can updated to reference the new cloud object for the region of the file that was modified. In addition, mapping can be retained for the previous version of the file allowing for efficient recall of past versions of files.

  • Patent number: 8891711
Abstract: Adaptive de-noise filtering of signals is disclosed. A signal may be identified and a noise level corresponding to noise associated with the signal may be determined. The noise level may be determined by isolating the noise from the signal and generating a metric indicative of the noise level. A threshold noise level may be identified. A cutoff frequency may be determined based at least in part on the noise level and the threshold noise level, and, optionally, based on one or more characteristics associated with a low pass filter. The signal may be low pass filtered based at least in part on the cutoff frequency to generate a filtered signal. Additional signals may be identified and filtered in accordance with respective corresponding cutoff frequencies such that noise levels associated with the additional filtered signals and the filtered signal may be substantially the same and at or below the threshold noise level.
