  • Patent number: 11119841
Abstract: A method and apparatus for validating operation of a data volume on a storage medium. A data integrity component is provided which writes data blocks to the volume in a sequence, each data block storing a sequence number and also write status information specifying the sequence numbers of those preceding data blocks in the stream which are still being written to the volume at the time the data block is generated. Data validation is performed by reading back the stored data blocks from the volume and checking that the sequence numbers stored in them match those that should be present based on the sequence numbers stored in the write status information of the last-written data block found on the volume.

  • Patent number: 10539404
Abstract: A blast containment system for trash cans includes a liquid-impervious flexible bag having a sealed bottom positioned at a base of a trash can, and an unsealed top positioned and retained at a top periphery of the trash can. A ring-shaped boot is positioned at the sealed bottom of the flexible bag. A rigid container has a closed bottom press-fit into a central opening of the boot. The rigid container extends from its closed bottom to an open top adapted to be approximately aligned with the top periphery of the trash can. An annular volume is defined between the rigid container the flexible bag. The rigid container has side walls that include ballistic materials. A liquid fills the annular volume.

  • Patent number: 10452502
Abstract: A multi-node data storage system comprises a first data storage system having an owner node and a backup node in a first location coupled to a second data storage system having an owner node and a backup node in a second location. Each storage system includes a copy of the same data volume. A failure of a node of the multi-node storage system is detected. An outstanding write request to the first storage system is identified. If the owner node in the first storage system fails, it is determined whether the outstanding write corresponds to a host write to the backup node of the first storage system. If so, a retransmission message is sent to the second storage system. Otherwise, the data region associated with the outstanding write request is read from the first storage system, and a resynchronization message is sent to the second storage system.

  • Patent number: 10357114
Abstract: A cushioning device for a body support such as a mattress, seat, sofa, or the like where support is obtained from a fluid in fluid cells having a spring bias. The cushioning device is self-inflating, self-adjusting, and provides a low interface pressure under the entire contact surface of a patient. Shear force scraping damage is prevented by a sleeve apparatus. A support system apparatus provides separately adjustable pressure support zones. For physical therapy, an alternating pressure system provides alternating lifting and lowering pressure zones under a patient.

  • Publication number: 20170165100
Abstract: A urinary absorbent and retention pouch for male incontinence is provided. The urinary absorbent and retention pouch includes an expandable pocket for containing male genitalia and absorbing and retaining urine discharge resulting from male incontinence. The pocket includes a flexible and elastic material for enabling the pocket to stretch. An elastic band defines an opening for providing access into the pocket and provides sufficient tension to sustain the pouch around the male genitalia. The pocket includes an absorbent interior layer for absorbing secreted urine and a liquid-impermeable exterior layer for retaining the urine in the pouch and preventing soiling. A removably attachable flap provides access to the male genitalia while the pouch is worn. A plurality of accordion pleats enables the pocket to expand its shape while in motion. A fastener enables the pocket to be suspended from a waistband for added support.

  • Patent number: 9528316
Abstract: A tornado door comprises a door body having spaced first and second exterior panels and a window panel sized to be oriented within an opening in the door body exterior panels. The door includes a plurality of S-shaped stiffeners spacing the interior sides of the door body first and second exterior panels and positioned about the periphery of the window panel forming a frame. A sealant establishes a seal between the window panel and the plurality of S-shaped stiffeners and between the window panel and the door body first or second exterior panel. The door further includes a cover ring placed on an exterior surface of one of the door body first or second exterior panels and juxtaposed with the plurality of S-shaped stiffeners. The cover ring and plurality of S-shaped stiffeners are intersecured using a plurality of fasteners which pass between the cover ring mounting holes through the door body first or second exterior panel and into the stiffener mounting holes.

  • Patent number: 8739498
Abstract: An insulated fire door includes a door shell having spaced first and second exterior panels and a gypsum panel between the first and second exterior panels. The insulated fire door includes a plurality of spacers bonded across an interior side of each of the first and second exterior panels. The spacers maintain the gypsum panel in a spaced position from the interior sides of the first and second exterior panels as the door bows during a fire on one side of the door, until the gypsum disintegrates. Each of the spacers may have a flat portion contacting the gypsum panel, a leg extending from the flat portion spacing the gypsum from the interior sides of the first and second exterior panels, and a flange extending from the leg bonding the spacer to the first and second exterior panels.
