  • Patent number: 11963909
Abstract: A method and surgical system including a laser source for generating a pulsed laser beam, an imaging system including a detector, shared optics configured for directing the pulsed laser beam to an object to be sampled and confocally deflecting back-reflected light from the object to the detector, a patient interface, through which the pulsed laser beam is directed, the patient interface having, a cup with a large and small opening, and a notched ring inside the cup; and a controller operatively coupled to the laser source, the imaging system and the shared optics, the controller configured to align the eye for procedure.

  • Publication number: 20240114179
Abstract: A media playback system for streaming content and/or playing stored media content is disclosed. The media playback system can configure the first playback device to stream content items received via a network connection without storing the streamed content in a first content store. After receiving an indication to store content, the media playback system identifies one or more content items to download for storage in the first content store. After the one or more content items are selected, the content items can be retrieved and stored on the playback device. Furthermore, the media playback system can configure a playback device to play content items from the first content store of the first playback device. In this manner, the first playback device need not be connected to the Internet or to a controller device to play content. Moreover, the playback device can switch between playing stored content and streaming content.

  • Patent number: 11945112
Abstract: Simulated motion of the papillary muscles in a heart simulator is provided that simulates natural motion of the papillary muscles. This improves heart valve simulation. This can be done with a six degree of freedom robotic actuator (e.g., a Stewart platform or the like) appropriately driven by a controller. This can also be done with a robotic actuator that provides constrained motion of its effector by including a mechanical linkage, as long as the resulting simulated papillary muscle motion includes time-varying position and orientation of the papillary muscle.

  • Patent number: 11783043
Abstract: A method is provided for authenticating firmware images in an embedded system. The method may include loading and executing a trusted firmware using a pre-existing Secure Boot on a baseboard management controller (BMC). The BMC is configured as a master for an embedded system including System On Chips (SOCs) configured as slaves, out-of-band interfaces between the BMC and the SOCs, and flash storages in electrical communication with the SOCs. The method may also include pushing or uploading, by the BMC, a secure SOC firmware image to one of the SOCs using one of the out-of-band interfaces, verifying a digital signature extracted from the SOC firmware image by using a hash code calculated from the SOC firmware image and decrypted using a public key stored on the BMC and notifying a user about verification of the digital signature.

  • Patent number: 11373689
Abstract: A carrier of an electronic device is provided with a soft stopper that may maintain the carrier at a service position within a chassis slot. As the carrier is inserted into the slot, at a determined point the soft stopper impinges upon a bumper. Further movement of the carrier into the slot requires the user to force the soft stopper to compress or flex and bypass the bumper. With the chassis slot vertically oriented the soft stopper may maintain the carrier and electronic device in service position, disconnected, while service is performed on a chassis circuit board.

  • Patent number: 9615700
Abstract: The urinal incorporates hand washing functionality. Clean water is supplied from an array of holes or nozzles located in an overhang so that a user can wash their hands, and then the waste water is used to flush a urinal located below. The combination of these two functions in a single unit provides an inexpensive means for conserving water and efficiently using bathroom facilities while requiring less physical space than that needed for a separate urinal and hand washing station. The overhang can be retrofitted onto existing urinals.

  • Publication number: 20130082966
Abstract: A method of scanning a touch panel is provided. The present method includes following steps. First, a scan area is defined according to the coordinates of a detected touch signal. Next, the scan area is scanned during a predetermined period to detect a next touch panel. After the predetermined period, a sensing range of the touch panel is scanned to re-define the scan area. Because the scan area is smaller than the sensing range of the touch panel, the time and power consumed by the scanning operation can be both reduced by detecting the touch signals within the scan area.

  • Publication number: 20070174670
Abstract: A system and method for identifying physical blocks marked as logically “bad” or “punctured” during a drive rebuild process enabling the information handling system to process these blocks more intelligently and preventing existing drive physical media errors from needlessly being copied and propagated to new drives. Various implementations of the invention allow physical blocks on a target drive to be marked as “punctured” so they can be diagnosed to verify that they have not been erroneously marked as being “bad,” thereby reducing the number of misdiagnosed drive failures.

  • Patent number: 5282267
Abstract: A data entry and error embedding system in which, first, a document is bitmapped and recorded in a first memory. Then, it is displayed, and portions of it to be replicated by data entry are underlayed by a window, into which window replicated data is entered in location and size such that it is juxtaposed just below that which is replicated, enhancing the accuracy of replication. Second, with this format in place, selected portions of the replicated data are altered by the insertion of character or word substitutions, thus the embedding of errors. Finally, a proofreader would endeavor to correct the error embedded data and a record of his or her changes recorded. In this manner, the skill level of the proofreader and accuracy of the data are computed.

  • Patent number: 4158229
Abstract: An instrument for precise measurement and setting of distances has an electronically controlled scale comprising optically active elements, an electronically controlled digital display, and a keyboard. The display and keyboard are mechanically rotatable and connected by electronic circuitry including a microprocessor. The light scale provides optical indicia, including a reference point and a cursor, having positions which are determined by keyboard entries and are displayed numerically.
